Sporting/motor racing: an art deco silver trophy cup, inscribed "7.8.39 Veteren Car Speed Event "B" – C.M.VERE", by Walker & Hall, London 1939 (wooden plinth), 20cm high, 12.3oz weighable silver. (lot)NOTE: This silver trophy was awarded at the last ever BARC meeting at Brooklands to the winner of the 6th or penultimate rate. It is sold with four metal medals (in a framed & glazed case) for completion of the annual London to Brighton run, also awarded to C.M. Vere, a photocopy of the Brooklands race program of 7th August 1939 and three black & white prints of the winning vehicle, an Achilles De Dion of 1903.
