CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2243 - Brass urn finials possibly replaced, shrinkage cracks to the veneer surmounting the mirror, uprights faded, inset piece of rectangular veneer on the rectangular top beneath the mirror, a sliver of veneer missing on the outer crossbanded frieze, a piece of veneer inset just of the right of the pigeon hole, piece of inset veneer, to the centre bowfront section, some shrinkage to the veneer on the right hand side of the frieze drawer, no worm, glass some foxing.

A Victorian Oak fitted Smokers Cabinet. Of upright rectangular form with a hinged top and a pair of bevelled glass cabinet doors enclosing a sliding tray, two short drawers with brass handles flanked by a leather inset aperture with a Staffordshire earthenware Japan pattern mixing jar and cover, decorated in cobalt blue, red and gilt. With side carrying handles, raised upon a plinth base. 30x38x23cms. CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1839 - The rectangular hinged top minor water staining to the right of the right hand hinge, old restoration right hand side re-glued , old break to the right of the top hinge to glazed cabinet door measures 4x14cms, original bevelled glass, shrinkage crack left hand side running through the oxidized metal handle, some discolouration to each oxidized handle, overall crazing to the mixing jar and cover, generally good condition, requires polishing.

A nineteenth century gilt brass and bronze bell shape table clock. With a 9cm dial with white enamel cartouches with Roman numerals, the two-train movement striking on a coiled gong contained within an unusual bell shape case with leaf, fruit and figure cast borders and Latin inscriptions including Spiritu Tuo, raised upon tupi feet the shaped top with a classical sphere supported at either side with crossed spears, each with winged bird terminals and crosses raised upon a shaped octagonal ebonised plinth. The clock measures 35cm with a key and pendulum.

CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2284 - Some surface wear to the leather and gilt inset top, fading to the gilt on the front, some minor scratching to the cock beading to the drawers, otherwise good condition.

CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2170 The clock has been subject to an extensive project of restoration and renovation. The hood, replaced and re gilded finials, replaced brass rosette roundels, restoration to the swan neck cornice, signs of a break running left to right in two places and at the top beneath the arch, new strengthening blocks applied at the back, restoration to the lower part of left hand side and the right hand side, replaced cheek boards to the arch and to the left and right sides and to the bottom, glazed door replaced. Movement completely overhauled and polished, dial and movement possible associated signs of additional blocks below the seat board, dial polished, restoration to the frieze above the dental work on the trunk, piece inset approx. 26 x 3.5cm, repair to the veneer on the left hand side angle.

An 18th Century Dutch marquetry cabinet on stand with later alterations With a cavetto cornice inlaid with a trail of flowers and scrolls, the frieze centred with a downswept capital embraced by similar capitals above a pair of panelled cupboard doors, each panel finally inlaid with a vase of blooms and leaves with a bird perching in the centre, supported on a shelf with marquetry garlands and leaves, embraced with uprights with trails of flowers and leaves enclosing a later mirrored interior above a frieze raised upon a re-entrant plinth, the lower part with a moulded border above a long frieze drawer raised upon turned supports joined by an H stretcher centred with an oval inlaid with a marquetry basket of blooms and flowers raised upon compressed bun feet with alterations. 184x135x53cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2290 - Marquetry to cornice good condition, frieze good condition each panel cupboard panel door has been extensively restored, signs of old shrinkage where the door has been taken apart showing signs of restoration, restored marquetry particularly to the plinth underneath the vase which as been painted in and filled, other paint work filling to marquetry flowers, the opposite door shrinkage, restoration of door and paintwork to plinth below the vase, infilled replacement marquetry, restorations to the moulded border in large section, restorations to the outer moulded applied border, the edge which abuts the opposite door a large section running from the top to the bottom has been replaced painted and paint coloured graining applied, similarly to the opposite door a section has been replaced and painted, the interior has had a later mirror fitted to the sides, back and floor, restoration to the left hand side marquetry panel, turned supports, scrubbed, and repolished, marquetry to shaped stretcher, repolished and some staining, compressed bun feet possibly replaced.

A George III walnut bureau bookcase With a cavetto cornice above a pair of glazed cabinet doors each with moulded panels enclosing two adjustable shelves above a pair of candle slides, the lower part with a moulded border, above a crossbanded and herringbone inlaid well figured hinged top with a book rest enclosing a panelled cupboard door with a fielded panel, herringbone crossbanded border enclosing a drawer, embraced on either side by three pigeon holes and three drawers, each similarly inlaid, the lower part with two short and three long graduated cockbeaded drawers, shaped brass plates raised upon a plinth base and bracket feet, 214cms high x 100cms wide x 57cms depth (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2262 - Size should say 214cms high x 100cms wide x 57cms depth. Restored and repolished, the bookcase moulding beneath the cavetto cornice left hand side angle missing, veneer around the left hand door cracked above the shaped escutcheon, piece of veneer top right hand cornice to the left hand door possibly replaced, right hand glazed door veneer replaced on the right hand vertical upright approx 5x11cms, veneer replaced on the left hand angle on the same door approx 8x5cms and decorated over to resemble the burr in the walnut, a piece also replaced on the left hand side upright measures approx. 4x4cms, original bolt shutter on the left hand glazed door and at the bottom glass old, putty holding old, the top overhangs the back slightly, restoration to the left hand return side where it butts the moulding approx 16x4cms, veneer reinset, veneer missing above the left hand candle slide minor approx 2x1cm, the hinge fall front scrubbed and repolished, faded figuring, pieces of veneer replaced above the brass escutcheon approx 10x3cms, the interior good rich colour, the two arches to the left hand pigeon holes possibly replaced, locks and brass work possibly replaced above the right hand loper to rest the fall on veneer replaced and restored in several sections, beneath the right hand fall rest veneered block missing measures approx 6x2.5cms, in the centre block with veneer missing measures approx 11x1.75cms, strip of veneer beneath this block also missing, all drawers scrubbed and repolished, cockbeaded left hand side missing to top right hand drawer, cock beading missing to the edge of the left hand 2nd long drawer also on the right hand side, 3rd long drawer scratching and bruising to cockbeading, cockbeading missing along the bottom ledge approx 33cms and the right hand edge approx 18cms, veneer missing on the upright on the right hand side the bottom long drawer, triangular piece of moulding missing above the right hand bracket foot, minor veneer missing on the front of the right hand bracket foot.

With a 6cm white dial with Roman numerals, blued steel hands, flanked by subsidiary dials for days and seconds with a triple barrel movement stamped Devon Clocks, England no.259 of 500, over a polished steel runway. The case with a triangular pediment, with four tapering columns terminating in turned vase finials raised upon a stepped plinth and supported on a mahogany plinth with three adjustable gilt metal feet, contained with a mahogany and glass panelled cover. 21x23x15cm (illustrated).

An early 19th Century burr elm longcase clock, signed R Lawson, Wigan With a 35cm brass dial with subsidiary seconds and date dials cast rococo spandrels the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement rack striking on a bell the well figured burr elm case with a cavetto cornice above a crossbanded frieze, reeded hood columns, the trunk with a shaped door flanked by fluted columns above a cockbeaded panel, the plinth inlaid with a frieze, canted angles and shaped bracket feet. 213x53x23 (illustrated)

A late 19th Century walnut mantel clock With a 10cm convex white dial with Roman numerals, blued hands, the two train key wound movement striking on a saucer bell, hour and half hour strike, the case with a broken arch pediment centred with an urn above a plain frieze with a gilt brass door with bevelled glass flanked by turned columns raised upon a stepped plinth base and toupie feet. 29.5x21x13.5cms with key and pendulum.

A Victorian mahogany pedestal dressing table The arched mirror with a moulded border embraced by leaf and flower carved lyre shaped uprights each above a blue velvet lined and mirrored hinged jewellery box, the lower part with an inverted breakfront top above a frieze drawer flanked by arched panelled cupboard doors enclosing three graduated drawers each with recessed brass handles raised upon an inverted breakfront moulded plinth base, 157 x 122 x 55cm. CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2283 - Some minor foxing to the glass frame good condition, some movement to the upright supports, left and right hinged boxes require fixing tighter to the back of the mirror, the rectangular top good condition some surface scratching, minor discolouration to the front, some fading to the left and right sides, more prominent on the left hand side, centre drawer good condition, runs smoothly each cupboard door good condition, minor traces of old polish in angles, each with three drawers, brass recessed handles, minor scuffing to brass recessed handles good condition, drawers run well and are in good condition, some polish infill to the reeded plinth, minor scratching to the plinth, very minor chip to veneer left hand angle measures approx. 2x2cms, back panels good condition.

With a 17cm brass dial with a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, blued steel hands, the two-train (W&H Sch.) striking on two gongs, the architectural case with a triangular pediment carved with a flower head and leaves above a brickwork frieze, fluted columns raised upon a plinth base, the rear door with a brass fretted panel. 41.5x32x19cm with pendulum.

Two not holes vacant two panel cupboard doors hinges good condition, internal shelves good condition, three sliding cutlery trays with kidney shape handles, green beige lining some staining to the bottom of the lowest drawer, moulding missing to the left and right of the breakfront section at the base, moulding left and right of the left hand top section where it abuts the plank top missing, top some old staining, drawers on left and right hand side some surface scratching bottom two ceramic handles chipped around the back rim, right hand side 2nd drawer chip around the left hand ceramic handle each with locks, some staining to drawers, original linings, lower panel cupboard doors minor piece missing to bottom left hand corner of right hand drawer, hinges good condition, shut flush, shrinkage crack to the right of the right hand drawer on the upright, scratching to the plinth, some discolouration to the right hand insized panel.

A mid-nineteenth century mahogany pedestal desk. The rectangular moulded top with a hinged fall front inset with a green and gilt tooled leather writing surface enclosing a fitted interior with a frieze drawer and six pigeonholes flanked on either side by an arrangement of four short drawers each with hinged angles concealing a lever locking mechanism flanking a spindle gallery above a frieze with a large faux drawer flanked by a short drawer raised upon pedestals enclosing three short drawers on a plinth base. 112x152x69cm (illustrated). CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2234 - The rectangular right hand pedestal with four drawers, the three quarter gallery left hand side, requires refixing at angled joint, hinges to drawer constraints good condition, restoration above the hinged fall front replaed timber with would have attached to the hinges measures 72x5cms, some scratching and damage to left hand angle of replaced green and gilt tooled leather to fall, interior showing sign of a stress crack running left to right 41cms, leather on the right with green tooling, two ring marks, right hand leather similar, gilt bright, crack to the rectangular top left hand side measures 35cms, top left hand short drawer shrinkage crack to the drawer runner showing daylight, ink stains to the bottom left drawer, right hand drawer shrinkage cracks to drawer liners, ink stain to all, generally repolished, the back behind the spindle gallery requires refixing, surface scratching to the plinths.

An early 19th Century inlaid mahogany bowfront chest of drawers With a crossbanded border above a well figured frieze, two short and three long graduated cockbeaded drawers each with later oval brass handles, moulded plinth base and compress bun feet. 105.5x108x55.5cms CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2275 The bowfront top, good rich colour some minor surface scratching, very minor dents to the surface polish, stringing good condition, crossbanded border good condition, the top separates from the bottom, divided approx 45.5cms from the top, therefore the chest is in two separate sections, the top will lift up from the lower half, colour and polish to left and right hand sides good condition, the front good colour, cockbeading to drawers in good condition, oval handles good quality but later additions, pine board back original minor gap between the top board and the bottom board, the supports are now compressed bun feet which may have been replaced, but old.

A French gilt brass combination desk timepiece with aneroid barometer and thermometer, circa 1880. The timepiece with a 5.5cm white dial with Roman numerals with gilt metals hands with a leaf and scroll engraved gilt metal border, eight-day movement with lever escapement, opposing a conforming aneroid barometer with a register calibrated in barometric inches inscribed with observations including change, with a conforming leaf engraved border, the reverse with a silvered dial centred with a fahrenheit thermometer surmounted by an oscillating loop handle raised upon a breakfront marble plinth with bowfront ends raised upon a gilt metal plinth base. 14x14x6.5cm (illustrated).

A Hermle, striking mantel clock. With an 11cm dial with Roman numerals, blued hands, the single-train movement striking on an overhead bell signed Hermle, Made in West Germany no.791080, the arched mahogany case with outset gilt brass columns raised upon a plinth base and compressed vase-shaped feet. 28.5cm excluding handle.
