Informed by allegories and parables, and straddling Western and Non-Western artistic traditions, Kadishman’s Totemic Crucifix penetrates the veil that separates art and anthropology.
A scarce boxed Tri-ang Minic M020 1/20th scale Austin Seven Mini, motorised model in blue, with plated parts and generally appears VG but with partial loss to the '0' of the 'WJO820' rear number plate, and although untested has a clean battery compartment, 16cm long. The model is housed on its card plinth in a generally VG box with harlequin design, still sealed at one end by the Tri-ang model description label.

An engineer built a live steam beam engine. With a wooden jacketed cylinder and large flywheel on a mahogany base. 28 cm long x 22 cm high. Together with a single-cylinder, double-acting reciprocating live steam engine on a wooden plinth.Qty: 2Condition report: The beam engine operates as one would expect when the flywheel is rotated by hand we do not have the steam plant that would drive the engine and so I can not vouch for the integrity of the cylinders but visibly I can see no reason for any problems.The reciprocating engine operates as expected when the flywheel is rotated by hand and a slight audible suction sound comes from the main cylinder probably indicating a good seal therein Both engines are just that "Engines" NO steam plants are present

No 17, raised on a contemporary black marble rectangular plinth, 44.5cm high approximately overallFootnotes:The Comte d'Orsay studied sculpture in Florence and Paris before arriving in London in 1823. Known as a flamboyant dandy, he mixed in aristocratic circles and enjoyed success as a both a painter and sculptor in Paris and London, exhibiting at the Royal Academy throughout the 1840's and also at the Paris Salon from 1845. He was nominated as the Director of the Beaux-Arts in 1852 by Louis-Napoleon and exhibited his bronze equestrian statue of Napoleon in 1849 at the Paris Salon.The sculptor was apparently particularly proud of the present equestrian statuette which caused a stir in London and greatly pleased the Duke. After Antonio Canova (Venetian 1757-1822), a sculpted serpentine model of a recumbent lion, modelled resting on an integral plinth, 20cm high, 40cm long, 15cm wideOn his death in 1769 Pope Clement XIII was laid to rest in the Vatican, but Senator Abbondio Rezzonico (the nephew of the late pontiff) commissioned Canova to create a more fitting tomb for him in St Peter's. The work which includes Canova's lions in marble was completed in 1792, when the late pope's remains were removed to the new tomb.
A Victorian mahogany compactum, second half 19th century, with central arrangement of two short and six long drawers, flanked by hanging cupboards, above a plinth base, 175cm high, 275cm wide, 59cm deepCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,Overall with a dry unpolished appearance overall - this would probably benefit from a clean and a polish, colour variation to the surfacesThe handles and locks all appear to be original throughout, one of the sprung handles to the doors is broken and does not keep the door securely shut, There are old splits, cracks, chips and losses, there are some areas of the cornice missing timberThe interior fittings appear to be later, the rails, hooks, mirror all appear to be later fittings. An English ebonised bracket clock, signed Tho (Thomas) Taylor, in Holborne, with eight day twin fusee movement, two bell strike on hammers, floral engraved backplate, gilt basket finials, ornate cast and gilt carrying handle, 6 1/2" dial with chapter ring with roman numerals and outer arabic numerals, date aperture at 12' o clock, gilt spandrels, pull cord repeat at hours and quarters, single bob pendulum. Some damaged to back of case on plinth, no fusee chain, now wire fitted, the winding holes are not inline on the dial, overall height 37cm.
