A Royal Copenhagen figure of a boy with umbrella's on a plinth, model 1129, dated 1969-1974, green printed and blue wave mark, artists initials 'EE', 17.5cm high and another of a boy in a night gown with an umbrella model 1145, dated 1975-1979, green printed and blue wave mark, 16cm high (2)
PROFESSOR OTTO POERTZEL - A SEMI NAKED YOUNG WOMAN, with arms upraised, ivory, on stained onyx triangular plinth, 27cm h, signed PROF PORTZEL, c1930 ++Slight damage to the fingers of the hand which originally supported another article. The left arm detached and cleanly re-attached at the shoulder. Minor hairline crack in the upper right arm, the figure glued to the plinth with glue residue whereas originally held into position by a nut and bolt. Old chip to one corner of the plinth, free from any later sophisticated or professional restoration. The faults reflected in the modest estimate
‡ SAMUEL TONKISS (1909-1992) - HEAD OF LAURENCE STEPHEN LOWRY, RA, bronze, cast by the Maurice Singer Foundry London, in 1975, on slate plinth, 33cm h Samuel Tonkiss was born in Shropshire and moved to Todmorden in West Yorkshire, where he worked as a journalist. In 1959 he began to sculpt a series of portrait busts, some of which were cast in small editions. An earlier head of Lowry sculpted in 1971 is in the National Portrait Gallery, London. The present bust would appear to be extra to the edition of 36. Tonkiss wrote two autobiographies, Just for the Record and Raking Amongst the Embers. ++In fine condition

By Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr: An Edwardian 'Zodiac' vase, on a corded trumpet foot, chased with twelve scrolls, around the rim each with a title of one of the twelve signs with a pendant shield, each with the corresponding symbol, fitted to a removable mounted wooden hexagonal plinth, the foot underside inscribed 'Omar Ramsden et Alwyn carr me Fecerunt', hallmerked London 1908 (plated drop inliner), 8.25in (21cm) high excluding plinth, 12.5oz weighable silver.
