The movement with a latched securing of the front plate to the decoratively turned pillars. The movement with an anchor escapement and rope weight suspension with lignum vitae weight suspension pulley. The clock complete with a single weight and pendulum.52.5cm wide x 27.5cm deep x 223cm highQty: 1Samuel Whittaker of Middleton Lancashire was the son of a blacksmith and whose brother James also was a clockmaker. Samuel died in 1746 but relatively few of his clocks appear to have survived, but those that do show skill and care and quality of craftmanship.The case showing some signs of repair, particularly to the cornice. Lacking the board across the top. The cheek supporting the movement replaced or altered, therefore suggesting that the movement and case possibly associated. The movement seemingly complete, but dusty and in need of a clean, with some possible restoration. The plinth almost certainly later, being stained pine.

Keys to the locking plates on the edges not present. Some losses to the veneer around the edges of the base. Historic chipping to the edges of the marble top.

Modelled as Corinthian columns, on square plinth bases. 51cm high to the fitting Qty: 2 Some chips particularly around the extremities and surface dirt throughout commensurate with age and use. More notable chipping around the plinth bases.

The second pair modelled as urns on square plinth bases, with a plastic covering.The first pair 32cm high to the fitting. The second pair 42cm high to the fitting.Qty: 4The first pair somewhat loose and in need of re-screwing. The send pair with notable chipping, particularly around the rims of the bases, the plastic covering is yellowing however underneath the alabaster appears good and white.
