A blue-printed Shakespeare mug and other items: the mug decorated on one side with a portrait of Shakespeare standing by a plinth with an inscribed scroll, titled The Immortal Shakspeare [sic], on the front with a trumpeting angel, and on the reverse with a scene titled Shakspeares [sic] Mulberry Tree, all beneath a border of actors beneath arches which is repeated inside the rim, height 14.5cm, unmarked circa 1830-50 (cracked); also a chinoiserie sauceboat and small stand: the sauceboat printed with a version of the Temple with Panel pattern, unmarked; the stand of Hollins-type printed with the Buffalo pattern, length 17.5cm, printed flowerhead mark; both circa 1800-10 (some faults) See FOB47 for another Shakespeare mug which features a similar print titled The Immortal Shakespear [sic]
A Spode Willow First pattern custard cup stand, of lobed circular shape on raised foot, the surface moulded with six circular rims to hold the cups with a similar seventh rim on a raised central circular handle/plinth, printed in blue with details from the chinoiserie scene and border, diameter 24.5cm, impressed small upper-case mark beneath rim, circa 1800-10. A Silver 2-handled Pedestal Trophy Cup on plinth inscribed 'H Company 5th Battalion Lincs. Regt. won by Pte. A Wilsea Sept. 27th 1913' Alfred Wilsea won this cup for expert marksmanship and served as a Sniper in WW1 receiving a head wound in the latter part of the war. Plinth engraved with five other names all Killed in Action and three with no record. Hallmarked Birmingham 1912, weight 16ozs.
