The hall having been built for them in the period 1832-5. They were in 1805 married at Newcastle upon Tyne. Isaac COOKSON (1776-1851) was born at Newcastle upon Tyne, the third son of Isaac COOKSON (1745-1831) of Newcastle upon Tyne by Margaret WILKINSON (1749-1801). He was a merchant and in 1809 the Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne. Jane COOK (1784-1869) was the daughter and heir of Revd. Joseph COOK (1759-1844) vicar of Shilbottle and of Newton Hall, Northumberland by Sarah BROWN formerly of Broomhill.
