Claude Duchesne (1690 - 1730)Queen Anne/George I tortoiseshell eight day striking longcase clock, the 12 inch brass arched dial marked Claudius Du Chesne, Londini, the triple strike dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, decorated with gilt metal mask spandrels, engraved signature to the reverse, quarter striking, the original case richly decorated with all over pewter overlaid scrolls and swags on red tortoiseshell, with brass mounts, glazed viewing window to the centre, with three brass weights and pendulum, overall 230cm high.This great clockmaker was a Huguenot who left Paris for London in 1685, he worked out of Dean Street, Soho in London.CONDITION REPORT: The clock is quarter striking. There are images of the works on the movement - please satisfy yourself with the condition of the movement. The movement has four bells, originally would've been eight, probably altered in the 19th century. Lacking original caddy to the top of the hood (later plinth added to the top). There are areas of restoration required to the case. Some small pieces/moulding lacking, as well as pieces of tortoiseshell and pewter overlay lacking. There is lifting of the overlay to areas also. There are old holes to the back of the wood behind the movement. The seat board is stuck down. The dial is in good condition with minor age-related surface marks. No keys present.
Regency style painted toleware rectangular jardiniere, decorated with figures in a landscape above gilt supports and a rectangular plinth base, 9.5ins widePoorly stored, inner liner is rusted and does have paint loss, mainly to base. I believe it is probably 20th Century from looking underneath (see images)
19th Century mahogany surveyors or architects plan chest, the moulded top above two banks of five drawers with locks by Hobbs & Co. London, above a plinth base, 50ins wideHas been stored in an out building so a little messy as to be expected. No splits to sides or tops but top has got multiple holes from things being fitted to it in past. Some knob handles missing and drawers not all opening and closing easily. Needs restoration and no signs of woodworm.

Cameo brooch depicting a seated classical female beside a pair of oval shields, together with 9ct gold and agate set pendantThe cameo is shell but the base ends at the bottom of the plinth and the lower area of black is some sort of infill. The whole of the back is closed (See additional images)
