An Edwardian mahogany longcase clock, the arched brass dial ornately decorated with applied spandrels, chime silent and chime selector dials to the arch, the silvered chapter ring with roman numerals, inscribed John Strachan, Forfar, fitted subsidiary seconds dial, the month going movement striking on eight bells and five gongs, the hood with carved decoration, flanked by brass-mounted corinthian pilasters, bevelled glass panelled doors to the hood and trunk enclosing the heavy brass-cased weights and pendulum, carved with scrolls and bird motifs, raised on a plinth base, 20in. x 96in. high.
