A set of four zoomorphic silver plated table candlesticks by Roberts & Belk of Sheffield. Each with a bell shaped sconce over a coiled serpent held in the beak of an owl and raised on a stepped circular plinth. The owls with glass inset eyes. Punch marks, 19.5cm.Condition report intended as a guide only.All in good condition. Heavy wax drips on two needs cleaning and then polishing.

Central Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lega peoples, ca. early 20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden figurine used for ceremonial performances in order to teach moral values consistent with ideals held by those in the Bwami Society. The figure is composed of a tapering conical body with delineated arms, a narrow neck, and a spherical head, all atop an integral hemispherical plinth as well as an egg-shaped base with several filed slits for attaching to a headdress as an ornamental finial. The compressed face features concentric circle eyes, a slit-form mouth, and smooth peripheries, and lustrous red-brown patina enshrouds the entire carving. Size: 1.5" W x 4.6" H (3.8 cm x 11.7 cm). Provenance: ex-Zemanek-Munster Tribal Art Auction (auction #303, part of lot 6788); collected in the 1960s by Andre Navez in Kivu province Condition: Minor abrasions to base, body, and head, with a couple of stable hairline fissures, otherwise intact and very good. Fabulous patina throughout. Old inventory label beneath base. A Well Engineered Model of a Live Steam Horizontal Mill Engine, the single cylinder, one inch bore by two inch stroke with hardwood lagging - open crank, five inch dia flywheel with crank to a water pump - the model finished in green with polished brightwork, and set on a hardwood plinth with water tank, pipe work fitted for compressed air supply. Overall size 16.5 x 6 x 6 inches.
A 1½ Inch Scale Live Steam "Model Engineer" Major Beam Engine, From a Design by Mr George Gentry, built from either Reeve's or Stuart Turner casting's, with beam supported on turned central column, with Watt's parallel motion linkage to a single vertical cylinder - large 23.5cm dia flywheel, smaller 8cm pulley belt wheel. The model finished in green and red paint work with polished bright, work and mounted on a standard wooden plinth, Whilst able to run on steam or compressed air, the model is fitted with an electric motor with friction drive to flywheel.
