Condition Report: Overall in good clean condition, structurally secure and with wear and tear consistent with age and use. The brass frame has some scuffs and tarnish though it would likely polish up. The glass intact. The base with slight general wear and tear including scuffing to the plinth and projecting mouldings, minor chips to the carved flowerheads. A GEORGE III MAHOGANY BOOKCASE CIRCA 1770 The stepped dentil-moulded cornice with associated pierced and scrolled brackets above astragal-glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the base with central panelled doors flanked on each side by four graduated short drawers on a plinth base, Hobbs, London lever locks 219cm high, 197cm wide, 44cm deep Condition Report: Overall in fair condition, structurally secure and with wear and tear, dents marks and scratches and shrinkage cracks due to age and use. As noted the pierced, scrolled brackets above the wings are associated, apparently early 19th century and with slightly grainy surfaces. The astragal-glazed doors in good order, the glass intact and undamaged, two long shelves and six short shelves to the wings. The central doors of the base with well-figured panels but shrinkage cracks (as a consequence of the thin, figured and slightly unstable panels). They are of slightly variable colour. Drawer handles are likely old replacements. The feet secure, with old scuffing and minor repairs. Condition Report Disclaimer

The whole dusty and with surface dirt to crevices. Inconsistency of colour tone and some visible small nicks to edge suggests that this may have had restorations to main body and raised anatomy details- now invisible under UV, with later applied brown wash. A LATE VICTORIAN SILVER CENTREPIECE REPRESENTING THE LIBERAL ARTS BRACHER & SYDENHAM, BIRMINGHAM, 1884 With Painting standing on a plinth with a view of the College at Reading built by the Palmer family and flanked by two further seated figures with children, the front with a globe, a book, a palette and paintbrushes and two mallets, the back with symbols of agriculture, a plough, a sickle and a barrel of beer 53cm (20 3/4in) long 6309g (202.85 oz) On a stepped ebonised baseAccompanied by a gilt-tooled brown leather presentation book to William Isaac Palmer, J.P. dated March 1885, the exterior with his cypher. The central figures unscrews from the plinth, which would originally allow a stand with crystal fruit bowl to be fitted. This is now missing, but can be seen in an accompanying framed picture.
