After the antique. A pair of large Victorian terracotta models of the Warwick vase, in the manner of Mark Henry Blanchard, each with a pair of entwined handles, with a grapevine frieze, the body decorated with busts, torches and a lion's pelt, with stiff leaves and a beaded socle, each standing on a rectangular plinth, decorated with ram's masks supporting swags of fruit and flowers, on a moulded stepped base, 153cm high, 111cm wide. (2) Provenance: The property of a Noblewoman.
After the antique. Two late 19th century Italian Neapolitan patinated bronze Grand Tour figures, one of the Farnese Antinous, the other of Narcissus, in the manner of Chiurazzi, each standing on a circular plinth, 61.5cm high, 63cm high (max). (2) Provenance: Property from the collection of Monty and Barbie Passes.
After the antique. A late 19th century bronze Grand Tour figure of the Borghese Gladiator, standing on a marble plinth, 27cm high. Although known as the Borghese Gladiator, the original marble is in fact based on a fighting warrior and it dates from 100BC. Since its discovery in the early 17th century at Antium, the Borghese Gladiator has been praised as an aesthetic male nude in motion.
After Giambologna (Flemish 1529-1608). A 19th century French bronze Grand Tour figure of Mercury, signed 'J de Bologne', on a Siena marble and bronze plinth base, relief decorated with cherubs, together with a companion figure of Fortuna after Louis Guillaume Fulconis (French 1817-1873), she holds a cornucopia and stands on a wheel, signed indistinctly, 87cm high (max). (2) Provenance: The property of a Noblewoman.
After Giambologna (Flemish 1529-1608). A late 19th century bronze Grand Tour figure of Mercury, holding his caduceus in one hand and a torch in the other, which has been later fitted for electricity, with a frosted glass shade, signed 'J Bologne', on a black marble and bronze relief decorated plinth, 105cm high.
A late 19th century Italian alabaster bust of Napoleon Bonaparte, sporting his Legion d'Honneur medal, indistinctly signed 'JJ Linedo', on a verde antico marble plinth applied with a gilt bronze 'crowned N', 33.2cm high, together with a continental porcelain bust of Napoleon.
