Hub studierte zunächst an der Kunstgewerbeschule in Frankfurt am Main, später auch in Paris und Berlin. Er war u. a. ein Schüler von Paul Wallot. Seit 1906 arbeitete er als freier Bildhauer in Frankfurt am Main und war dort 1921 Lehrer in der Städelschule, wo unter anderem Ernst August von Mandelsloh zu seinen Schülern zählte. Hauptsächlich fertigte er Büsten aus Marmor oder Bronze. Hub war, außer 1941, von 1937 bis 1944 auf allen Großen Deutschen Kunstausstellungen in München vertreten. Unter anderem zeigte er 1938 eine Bronze-Büste Hitlers, 1942 eine Marmor-Büste von Irmgard von Opel, 1943 eine Büste von Adam Opel und 1944 eine Büste des SA-Führers Adolf Beckerle. Professor Theodor Linz (geb. 9. Februar 1886 in Fürth; gest. 24. Juli 1979 in München war ein Fürther Bildhauer. Theodor Linz wurde am 9. Februar 1886 als Sohn des Fürther Metallschlägers und Kaufmanns Nikolaus Linz und seiner Frau Pauline, geb. Seifert, in der Gartenstraße 17 in Fürth geboren. Nach der Schulzeit begann er zunächst sein Studium an der Königlichen Kunstgewerbeschule in Nürnberg. Ab November 1908 belegte er den Kurs Bildhauerei von Professor Balthasar Schmitt (1858 - 1942) an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste München. Sein Bruder Peter Linz studierte Malerei. Mit Beginn des Ersten Weltkriegs wurde Theodor Linz im Oktober 1914 in Neu-Ulm zum 12. bayerischen Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment eingezogen und meldete sich anschließend freiwillig zum 1. bayerischen Feldartillerie-Regiment in München.
