A vintage 20th Century home made gun stock / butt gun desk / table lamp light having a panel beaten conical copper shade with the gun stock forming the support. Small storage / cigar chest in front with eagle decoration atop with all raised on a oak plinth base. Measures approx; 59cm x 34cm x 25cm.
A mixed cluster of three vintage table lamp light dating from the first half of 20th Century comprising of a reeded brass column example upon a domed brass bass with a wooden plinth below (later fixture). Together with a carved oak example and turned mahogany stem. All sold as untested with wear commensurate with age, overall good. Tallest measures approx; 34cm x 14cm diameter.

The sitter was the son of John Willoughby Cole, 2nd Earl of Enniskillen (see lot 154) and Lady Charlotte Paget. He held the office of Member of Parliament for Enniskillen between 1844 and 1851 and Fermanagh between 1855 and 1880. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 7th Hussars and in the 12th Foot.Condition report: 48 x 43cm (framed)Oil on a small wooden panel. The support and paint layers are in a good condition overall. The paint layers are applied in a thin, smooth manner. The darker paint passages have developed a slight texture as it has dried. There are small areas of overpaint around the edges of the panel and on the sitter’s hand. The varnish is very matte and has yellowed with age. There is a light layer of surface dirt with brown accretions.

The partnership continued until 1824 when Handley died, after which Moore continued alone. William Heywood is recorded as working in King Street, Covent Garden 1807-10, and at Goodge Street from 1815-42.Condition report: Had been working OK for several days. But now moved into the saleroom for viewing, does not work for long, as needs levelling properly. Has case key and winding key. See photos for general condition. A pretty clock.
