A FRENCH BRASS FIVE-GLASS CARRIAGE CLOCK, 20th century, having a shaped carrying handle over a rectangular bevelled glass panel, a platform escapement marked ~Made in France~, the movement and white enamelled dial with Roman hours behind bevelled glass panels, on a plinth base. 12.5cm(h) Generally good apart form a small patch of oxidation/acid stain to handle.
A GILT BRASS AND CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL MANTEL CLOCK AND GARNITURES having an arched top with moulded detail and an enamelled crest, the circular dial with Arabic hours and filigree centre, all between enamelled columns, on a shaped plinth base, the striking movement marked ~5377 4.8~ also scratched ~GHN 1968~. 28cm(h); flanked by two vase or urn form garnitures with egg and dart rims, scroll handles and enamelled motif, on a moulded socle and stepped square base. 20cm(h) Wear to gilt finish throughout, marks and scratches etc, viewing advised.
A GEORGE III OAK AND MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY LONG CASE CLOCK by David Collier of Gatley, having a broken swan-neck pediment with rosette terminals, gilt painted foliate scrolls, arched glazed hood door and turned columns, the long shaped and crossbanded trunk door between turned quarter columns, on a crossbanded base with canted corners and plinth, the arch of the brass dial with painted maker~s name, rolling moon phase mechanism with hemispheres, the chapter ring having Roman hours/ Arabic minutes and subsidiary seconds dial, winding holes and crescent form date aperture, all within applied brass spandrels. 225cm(h) The hood missing a central finial, minor veneer splits and depletions, marks and scratches, wear to moon phase and date aperture, viewing advised.
A LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY CARVED OAK, WESTMINSTER CHIME, EIGHT-DAY LONG CASE CLOCK by S Smith & Sons, The Strand, London, having an arch glazed hood door with craved foliate surmount, the oblong trunk door, panelled base and plinth all carved in high relief with various foliate elements, the arch of the dial having a rolling moon phase dial painted with scenes over two hemispheres and two chime setting dials, the silvered chapter ring with gilt Arabic hours and subsidiary seconds dial, winding holes and plaque bearing the maker~ name, all within applied brass spandrels. 23cm(h) Damaged dial movement loose, broken glass and some depletions to hoods raised moulding viewing advised.
A VICTORIAN WALNUT, MARQUETRY INLAID CREDENZA having a rounded oblong top and frieze inlaid with geometric panels, the large central cupboard door below inlaid with a scrolling interlaced design, all between turned half columns and curved glazed end cupboards, raised on a plinth base, all with applied gilt metal mounts. 110cm(h) x 151cm(w) x 42.5cm(d) Fading, mark and scratches, minor depletions, some loose mounts, viewing advised.
AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY MAHOGANY BREAK-FRONT BOOKCASE having a moulded cornice with dentil band, nulled frieze centred by a sunburst motif, four long doors each with geometric glazing and adjustable shelving, the lower stage with four panelled doors and quadrant corners, on a plinth base. 234cm(h) x 205cm(w) x 42cm(d) Some fading, marks and scratches, frieze appears to be lacquered possibly a replacement, viewing advised.
AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY SILVER TROPHY, ~THE ELKINGTON CUP~ of shaped and dished circular form raised on a stepped circular foot, the body with presentation inscription dated 1919, on a turned wooden plinth, marks for Birmingham 1919, maker Elkington & Co. 11cm(h) x 16cm(d) 196grams Compression to short stem, slightly misshaped, viewing advised.
A CARVED MARBLE BUST in the manner of Jean Baptist Carpeaux (French 1827-1875) head and shoulders, depicting a young man wearing a woolen hat and crumpled shirt, raised on a cylindrical veined marble plinth with turned base. 58cm(h) Some knocks to base and plinth, also some resin repairs, accumulated dirt etc, viewing advised.
Cricket - Cricket trophy. Metal (possibly pewter) trophy decorated to the cup with cricketer in batting pose surrounded by floral motifs and mythical characters around the cup base. The stem featuring two angled cricket bats. Maker’s mark to underside, Rogers Smith & Co, Meriden. Small dents and wear to cup and rim, lacking plinth otherwise fair condition
