An early 19th century Anglo-Indian carved ebony cheval glass, the rectangular plate supported by turned and carved columns, each bearing the family Arms of Norton and Rose within reserves, with square plinth bases, on lion paw feet, 167 x 118 cm Provenance:Research has confirmed the arms on one panel are the arms of George Norton, called to the bar in 1816, who in 1825 became advocate-general in Bombay and from 1827-1854 advocate-general in Madras. The other panel to be those of the Rose family of Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire, possibly the family of George Norton's wife, whose father was John Rose, who was admitted to Grays Inn, in 1800, the second son of Thomas Rose of Winchendon, Buckinghamshire.The research by the College of Arms is available from the auctioneers.

19TH CENTURY CARVED IVORY STUDY OF A RECUMBENT LION, with his tail over his back, crossed paws and exposed teeth, on a rectangular moulded plinth with canted angles. 9.3cm long. CONDITION REPORT: Rather grubby and discoloured, some cracks with age visible, he may have had a tongue which is not in evidence now, crack through front left paw, minor chips and one particular chip around base rim.
LATE 18TH CENTURY 8 DAY LONG CASE CLOCK in overall chinoiserie lacquered and painted case, having arched brass face with Roman numerals and date aperture, painted arched door on panelled base with later plinth, 8 day two train movement striking on one bell. The unnamed face 40.5 x 30cm, overall 246.5cm including finial. CONDITION REPORT: Evidence of fire damage, some minor losses to the case. Plinth base is a replacement, minor losses to mouldings to the case in places, the glass is cracked.
