A late 19th century white marble figure of The Dying Gaul the naked gladiator bent down over his fallen sword with his head downcast, on an oval plinth carved with a mat having a Vitruvian scroll border 59m wide, 32cm high, 30cm deep The Dying Gaul (in Italian: Galata Morente) is an ancient Roman marble copy of a lost Hellenistic statue which was possibly originally executed in bronze and commissioned some time between 230 BC and 220 BC by Attalos I of Pergamon to honour his victory over the Celtic Galatians in Anatolia. The identity of the origianal sculptor is unknown, but it has been suggested that Epigonus, the court sculptor of the Attalid dynasty of Pergamon, may have been its author.

A COMPOSITE GERMAN ARMOUR FOR FIELD AND TOURNAMENT USE, LATE 16TH CENTURY AND LATER comprising close helmet with heavy rounded one-piece skull rising to a low comb (one small internally patched repair), fitted at the nape with conical plume-holder, and formed with a hollowed rim to fit over a collar, visor with prominent step beneath its centrally divided vision-slit, prow-shaped upper bevor pierced at each side with a circular arrangement of eight holes around a further central hole, later bevor fitted at its right side with forked support for the upper bevor and formed at its neck with a hollowed rim continuing that of the skull, the bevor and upper bevor each secured at the right side by spring catches, the visor secured by a wing headed screw, gorget of three lames front and back, hinged on the left and secured at the right, medially-ridged breastplate projecting forward over the belly, boxed at each side, flanged outwards at its V-shaped lower edges to receive a single fauld lame, fitted with a pair of gussets formed en suite with the neck-opening, the inside thickened over the left of the chest, a pair of tassets of five lames, Italian late 16th Century backplate stamped with the letters GP for Gioco del Ponte at the base, a pair of full arm-defences, each comprising large pauldron of five lames, vambrace with tubular upper cannon surmounted by a turner, fully enclosed articulated couter with small pendant-shaped wing, tubular two-piece lower cannon, a pair of fingered gauntlets each formed of a long flared and pointed cuff embossed over the ulna, and fitted with a separate inner plate, five metacarpal-plates, a knuckle-plate decorated with a roped transverse rib, shaped finger-lame, scaled finger-defences and hinged thumb-defence with matching scales, a pair of leg-defences, each comprising cuisse of a main plate and short upper extension plate, winged poleyn of three lames, tubular two-piece greave with integral broad-toed sabaton of ten lames, the armour finely etched in its main bands and borders with scrolling leafy tendrils and flowerheads on a stippled ground, and in its subsidiary borders with narrow guilloche bands, the principal edges with finely roped turns, and the etching retaining some gilding: on a fully articulated stand on an oak plinth (expertly releathered throughout) Provenance The Roselius Haus, Bremen The helmet with its distinctive upper bevor is similar to those worn in the Saxon tournaments of the latter part of the 16th Century. A Large Fine Quality 19th Century Brass Samovar. The urn with turned ebonised carrying handles on scrolling shell-crested mounts either side and an elaborate tap to the front. The lid fitted with a cylindrical steam chimney bearing a teapot stand to the top. Standing on a rising pedestal and square plinth base with short column feet, 27 ins (69 cms) high, 15 ins (38 cms) in width.
A Pair of Fine & Decorative 17th/18th Century Italian Columns. The square marbled tops above a carved & gilded Ionic capital with scrolling volute terminals. The simulated Siena marble columns meeting ornately carved bands of gilt scrolls and flowers with a punched ground. Standing 55½ ins (141 cms) high on a square stepped plinth bases painted with simulated tortoiseshell 12 ins x 12 ins (30 cms x 30 cms).
An Unusual 18th Century Walnut Alpine Housekeeper's Cupboard with clock, or Vaisselier à Horloge. The moulded cornice above two upper cupboard doors slotting onto pin hinges with moulded panels in between above small shelves and base cupboards on a breakfront plinth base. The clock fitted into a full length side cupboard. The oval sheet brass dial embossed with sprays of flowers and a star to the centre encircled by a silvered chapter ring with roundel plaques engraved WB HINK and A MULL ER. The movement now converted to discard the pendulum, 79 ins (200 cms) wide, 80 ins (203 cms) in height.
A 15th/16th Century Gothic Oak Choir Stall. The moulded top rail raised on a turned blade knopped pilasters, before large scrolling lobed arms terminating with grotesque face masks. The slanted back having a centre panel carved with three fleur-de-lis motifs within a Gothic tracery shield cartouche. The shaped seat raising to form a book rest with a carved head of a woman misericord. Standing on a plinth base 42 ins (107 cms) high, 33 ins (84 cms) wide.
