An early 19th century mahogany reading table, the rectangular top with moulded rim and a pair of opposed easel book stands (as viewed, ledge supports missing). The adjustable top with both lateral and vertical on an extending telescopic support mounted within the octagonal column which has a moulded collar and is raised on an inverted shaped plinth with castored bun supports.
A Dresden porcelain two branch candelabrum, the floral encrusted column with foliate drip trays and leaf shaped holders (one damaged) and the attendant figure modelled as an 18th century beau in a polychrome floral decorated suit with a waistcoat and breeches on shaped and scrolled plinth (approx 30cms high as viewed).

A George III mahogany cabinet in the manner of Gillows, the associated upper section with glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the base with an arrangement of twelve drawers and two cupboards, flanked by foliate carved, beaded and reeded quarter pilasters, on shaped plinth base, 137cm wide x 231cm high.
* WWI - Germany. Putter (Fritz, German WWI ace fighter pilot, 1895-1918). Memorial statue surmounted by a German eagle with wings outstretched, bronze finish column engraved with the words ‘Flieg deutscher Adler flieg!’, with applied wreath badge below showing an early monoplane flying over the countryside, within oak and laurel leaf frame surmounted by a crown, the whole raised on black marble square plinth with legend plaque ‘Fritz PŸtter Leutnant der Reserve FŸr AusfŸhrung Im der Flugerkrieg 31.5.1918’, some old damage, overall height approx. 14 in (25cm) Having volunteered for service on 24th August 1914, Putter began pilot training on 20th May 1916. He was posted to Flieger-Abteilung 251, flying reconnaissance missions between Reims and Verdun in support of the 3rd Army. He was assigned to the Royal Prussian Jagdstaffel 9 in March 1917, flying fighter aircraft under the tutelage of Hartmut Baldamus and Hermann Pffeifer. Putter had considerable success shooting down enemy observation balloons and is credited with downing seventeen enemy aeroplanes. He received Germany’s highest award for valour, the Pour le Merit, on 30th May 1918. On 16th July of the same year he was flying a mission with incendiary ammunition onboard which self-combusted, setting the aircraft and pilot on fire. Putter managed to land the burning plane and was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his wounds. (1)
AUSTRIAN SECESSION, MANTEL CLOCK, CIRCA 1910, the circular silvered dial with embossed numerals within beaten copper square case, supported on turned column with embossed silvered backplate, depicting a chariot race and inscription `Wettlauf der Zeit` (`Race against Time`), the corresponding copper base raised on a marble plinth, later contemporary quartz movement, 49cm high
A French Louis XV style silvered metal mounted cream lacquered mantel clock, circa 1900, the eight-day bell striking movement with platform lever escapement and white enamel Roman numeral dial with retailers signature HOWELL & JAMES LIMITED..., the waisted case with rocaille cast edge mounts to front and on festoon swag applied concave fronted plinth base with scroll feet, 27cm high. Condition Report:** Movement is intact but not currently running as is overwound, however escapement appears free from damage so probably just requires a clean and overhaul. Dial has a series of hairline cracks to the upper numerals of the chaper ring but appears free of chips/losses to enamel. Case has overall wear and crazing to cream lacquer finish with noticeable flaking to carcass joints within the case, the metal mounts are complete but are tarnished and worn. Generally a very decorative clock with an attractive `lived in` feel. Clock does not have a winding key.
A French Jacob Petit Paris porcelain cased mantel clock, late 19th century, the eight-day bell striking movement with white enamel Roman numeral dial signed W. B. PROMOLI, RUE DE BOULOGNE 4, A PARIS to centre, the waisted case with floral spray painted panels on a mid green ground within elaborate rocaille moulded gilt highlighted borders, the underside with underglaze blue J.P. mark, on original matching porcelain plinth, (slight damage to clock case), 44cm high overall. Condition Report:** Movement appears complete and original however would benefit from a clean and overhaul. Ddial appears undamaged but is dirty. The case has a chip/loss to the extreme right hand scroll otherwise is in very good condition with only very light gilt wear, as well as some surface wear to green ground where clock sits in the base. Clock comes with pendulum but no winding key.
A Victorian coromandel and mahogany crossbanded kidney shaped desk, circa 1870, in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster, the tooled leather inset above an arrangement of eleven graduated drawers, on a plinth base 75cm high, 130cm wide, 64cm deep Condition Report:** Marks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Some old closed splits, some sections of replacement and losses to veneers, minor chips. Overall varnished surface appears `bloomed` affecting colour and patina of timber. Some additional marks to top. There are 4 castors which appear to be original and which are sunk into the underside of the plinthFurther images are available upon request for visual reference to condition
A George II Chinoiserie lacquered and parcel gilt circular occasional table, circa 1750, the hinged top decorated with flora, fauna and figures by a pavillion, the gun barrel turned stem and three cabriole legs with further painted decoration, 73cm high, 74.5cm diameter Condition report: ** Marks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Old closed splits. Minor chips. Additional scratching and fragmentary loss to lacquer work, particularly to raised sections and outermost edges of legs. Old worm holes to plinth at top of stem. Holes and section of loss around brass catch to underside of top and later screws therefore catch probably replaced.
A mahogany pedestal desk, circa 1780 and later, the rectangular top with gilt tooled red leather inset above an arrangement of drawers, the opposing side with a drawer and a pair of cupboards, on plinth bases, 79cm high, 168cm wide, 122cm deep .Please note: This desk is of late 19th/early 20th century manufacture in George III style, and not as described in the catalogue.Condition Report:** Marks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Some old closed splits, minor chips. Some sections of replacement and losses to veneers. Handles and locks replaced. Later bracket and drill holes where central drawers are supported. Top and central drawer later adaptions. Overall desk appears to be of late 19th/early 20th century date in George III style and not as described in the catalogue.
An oak breakfront bookcase, in George III style, of recent manufacture, the cornice, above astragal glazed upper section enclosing shelves, on a base centered by a pair of cupboard doors flanked by drawers, on a plinth base, 220cm high, 230cm wide, 49cm deep, Condition Report:** Marks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Good condition overall reflecting recent date of manufacture.
