A VICTORIAN QUALITY MADE BURR WALNUT FINISHED PIANO TOPPED DAVENPORT, with sprung driven upper section, fitted for storage, having typical four drawer side with four drawer dummy opposing, 'S' shaped carved four legs, on a plinth, with squashed bun f eet and recessed castors, 92cm high (inclusive of gallery) when closed, 55cm body width (excluding knob handles)Condition report –Overall impression a good piece, overall good colour, there are signs, evidence of use and wear, some dents, at some point I would suggest it has been restored. The retractable top sits a little wonky, sits up on the left hand side, stays like it when up, means can easily open bottom drawer of superstructure, you have to physically raise right hand side of retractable section. Veneer lifting a little on faux drawer side of pedestal. No stops to writing drawer fully out, split to base of this drawer under writing slope. The top gallery of retractable section, doesn’t fit well, can see gap under it, may be replacement.

Taxidermy: A Cased Long-Eared Owl (Asio otus), circa 1880-1900, a full mount adult stood atop a white painted plinth, set against a plain white painted interior, enclosed within a pine framed single-glass display case, 36cm by 21.5cm 35.5cm, mounted very much in the manner of North East Taxidermist's such as Robert Duncan and Joseph Cullingford, each adopted this simple, clean, yet very effective process of letting the natural beauty of the specimen show, and not be overpowered by a cluttered interior.
