A model of The Matthew, on mahogany plinth, with plaque reading `Mathew 1497, Discovery of Newfoundland, by John Cabot, J.T.Young 1946`, 14in. (36cms) tip to tip. N.B. The Matthew was the ship captained by John Cabot, under patent of King Henry VII, to find and trade with foreign countries in the North, East and West. After setting sail across the Atlantic for Asia Cabot came upon the Newfoundland (now North America) on 9th June 1497.

An aesthetic movement late Victorian golden oak museum cabinet, the pierced and carved pediment above a pair of glazed cupboard doors, the interior fitted two shelves and lined in blue velvet, the doors with aesthetic brass cabinet fittings and ebony inlay, the central section fitted six drawers with locks by Cope & Collinson, the lower section with two inlaid panelled doors enclosing flights of fitted oak drawers, many with original labels, formerly on a plinth (now missing), 23 x 48 x 75in. (58.5 x 122 x 190.5cms).
A 19th Century walnut doctors cabinet with flared cornice, the top lifting to reveal a storage space, fitted with two cupboard doors, fourteen instrument drawers fitted with porcelain handles, the base fitted with marble top, one short drawer with porcelain handles, with two cupboard doors raised on a plain plinth, 61 3/4 x 18 1/2 x 27 1/2in. (157 x 47 x 70cms).
