A late 18th century lead tobacco jar, the domed cover surmounted by a swan, the shaped rectangular body with low relief decorated panels and brass plaque "Presented to Captn Foreman by J. Carrick", the whole flanked by figures raised on an integral shaped plinth, w.14cm, together with Urban, Mark: Rifles Six Years with Wellington's Legendary Sharpshooters, hardback volume with dust jacket. BENNO SCHOTZ (SCOTTISH 1891-1984)KEIR HARDIE, SKETCH FOR MONUMENT Bronze on wooden base, signed, dated (1975), 28cm high (including plinth)Title inscribed and Cyril Gerber Fine Art label versoCondition Report:No significant issues to report. Mild signs of age and wear to patina, darker mark to inner left arm.
A pair of 19th century Wedgwood Jasperware table candlesticks: typically applied with classical-style maidens, one playing a lyre the other resting upon a plinth; the circular bases decorated with anthemions, impressed marks to underside of bases (20cm). Together with a pair of burly 20th century armorial-style leaf-shaped pottery dishes, transfer marks of 'Lille' to undersides (2 pairs)
An unusual 19th century eight-day spelter-cased mantle clock modelled as a big cat attacking an elephant: the 9.75cm diameter dial with circular enamel roundels with Roman numerals and mounted upon a howdah, the bronzed case surmounted with a finial and the gilded movement striking on a bell, numbered 899 on pendulum and movement, minus original plinth base (31cm highest x 39cm widest) plus pendulum and key
A 19th century novelty oak table safe: the hinged door with applied Royal crest above a 'Secure' lock and opening to reveal two drawers with metal handles, lower plinth with registered design number 176550 (16cm wide x 15.5cm deep x 19.75cm high)Condition Report: There is no key to this item. The door closed flat although two of the bullethead-shaped volutes are missing from the left-hand side of the door, as is the archway around the applied crest and escutcheon. If a key could be located the mechanism appears in good original order.
An early 19th century circular pedestal glass bowl: the averted, fluted lip above a hobnail-cut body and faceted tapering stem leading to a square star-cut base (22.5cm diameter x 17.5cm high)Condition Report: There is some scratching to the underside of the foot around the star-cut base commensurate with age. There is a double matchhead-sized chip to one corner, visible mostly from the underside and also a single matchhead-sized chip to one other corner. There also looks like an imperfection when the glass was manufactured (appears as a crack to the faceted spreading foot where it meets the square base but is just an imperfection). The inside and outside of the bowl looks good - no major imperfections to report. At the top of the square plinth foot there is a half matchhead-sized chip away from the end but barely noticeable.
An unusual 19th century oak-topped window-seat / bench: the single plank top above two open-mouthed caryatid-style monopodia supports (made up) (120.5cm wide x 43cm deep(plinth base) x 48cm high)Condition Report: The colour of the wood on the top is good with a nice grain. There are water marks commensurate with age, a heat mark, scratches and other knocks and marks etc. to the top plank. The supports have been put on later and in the Auctioneer's opinion are enhancements. There some scuffs to the front of the creature's paws and claws, again commensurate with age. One of the legs looks to have been re-carved and there is 4cm section put onto the original carving. A good solid piece but not 'pure' antique.
A large and unusual early 19th century Dutch oak and inlaid chest: the heavy lid on iron strap hinges and opening to reveal a right-hand side candle box and 'secret' compartment, large iron lock with shaped escutcheon to the front having fielded panels inlaid with star and square shapes, panelled ends with two blacksmith-made iron carrying handles and raised on recessed, shaped plinth style base with bracket feet to the ends, the date '1816' carved into the right-hand front foot (146cm wide x 61.4cm deep x 76.5cm high)

GILL PARKER (British b.1957) - a late 20th century bronze of a racehorse with jockey up. The base signed and dated Gill Parker 1989/1984?, upon conforming polished wooden oval base (18cm high x 15.5cm wide)Condition Report: The felt to the underside of the moulded wooden plinth base is a little rubbed. It is noted that one side of the plinth base is darker than the other (sun damage). The bronze itself has nice patination and is in good original untouched condition with no problems noted, from a solicitor's estate clearance.
