An impressive antique, 18th century or earlier, carved stone column, the capital carved with four masks to the frieze, on fluted tapering column with acanthus leaf base and quatrefoil plinth, 185cm high, the plinth 80cm square CONDITION REPORT Column is comprising of five separate carved stone elements. Overall weather worn with slight losses and overall loss to definition. Purchased from a house in Wandswiorth, believed to have been on the same premises since at least 1960s. Provenance: private owner
19th century mantel clock with French eight day movement striking on a bell, signed - R. G. Paris, London Best Warranted 2784, pink porcelain and gold painted dial with black painted Roman numerals, on white panels and painted rural scene, in a gilt metal neoclassical case with pink Sèvres-style panels and mounts surmounted by a porcelain and gilt metal urn, standing on a separate plinth under a glass dome, 52cm overall length of dome and plinth (key and pendulum present) CONDITION REPORT General overall condition good. Movement is clean and appears to be in working order, although we have not had it running. Dial is good. No obvious signs. Case is good. Gilding is marked and tarnished in places. Rear cover is missing. Porcelain panels and mounts are generally good. However lower panel to right of dial does not fit well and surface may have been retouched. Some of applied decoration is missing. Plinth is worn in places and velvet covering is quite worn. Glass dome has some chipping to edge. Separate black stand is worn in places
19th century French mahogany wardrobe with cushion moulded cornice, enclosed by pair of panel doors, on plinth base, 128cm wide CONDITION REPORT Back panel is missing. Keyhole has been moved to an adjacent position and plugged. Left hand door very slightly warped, elsewhere a little wear, splits and veneer losses

Oxford University Chess Club was founded in 1869 and is the oldest University Chess Club in the United Kingdom. After the Antique, 19th century Grand Tour carved marble sculpture of the Uffizi boar, finely carved on shaped rectangular plinth, indistinctly inscribed and dated 1853 to the underside, 16cm long CONDITION REPORT Boar has some loss to his tail. Suggestion of loss to plinth below his tail. Loss to his left ear. Other wise just general wear.
