An Elizabeth I sterling silver lion sejant-affrontee spoon, with fig shaped bowl, tapering hexagonal stem surmounted by a figure of a lion sejant seated atop an ogee form plinth, engraved on back of stem with script initials I.B, hallmarks struck to the bottom of the back of the stem, date letter and maker's mark C reversed as crescent enclosing W for William Cawdell, crowned leopard's head mark struck to upper section of bowl, London 1589, length 17.5 cm, weight 42 g / 1.3 ozt approx Notes William Cawdell (free c1582, d.1625) was a specialist spoon maker and his mark is found on numerous spoons dating from this period, cementing him as a major supplier of his day. Cawdell was made Warden of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in 1621 and among his finest and most celebrated works is a set of twelve spoons known as the Tichborne Celebrities which were subsequently presented to Sir Robert Tichborne when Lord Mayor of London in 1657 and are currently in the collection of the Willis Museum and Sainsbury Gallery in Basingstoke. Ferdinand Preiss (1882-1943), Lighter than Air, Ada May, an Art Deco carved ivory and patinated bronze figure, circa 1925, modelled arms raised, as though holding a bubble, on a geometric marble and onyx plinth, the silver plaque inscribed, Lighter than Air, Ada May by F Preiss, foundry mark to the bronze, 33.5cm high Note: modelled after the American dancer and screen actress Ada May (1896-1978), the figure is typical of Preiss's use of the athletic female form popular in Europe and America in the 1920s and 30s. A Chinese silver figured condiment depicting a Gentleman carrying baskets on a wheeled plinth, height 12 cm, 144.6g. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition, apparently unmarked, one basket which hooks to the underside of the long arm is missing a small hook to hang the lid of the basket open otherwise all fine.

(2) CONDITION REPORT: Good condition, makers mark a little rubbed 'IY', with a crest of a cockeril to the side and also inscribed 'Droit', also a star inscription to the base.

Signed Lorenzl to the tapering octagonalbronze plinth verso. 38cm high CONDITION REPORT: In good condition with slight losses to the silver, mainly on both hands and the lower ankle. The onyx base has a section missing to the lower round part of the base

A 19thC Anglo-Indian Vizagapatnam ivory inlaid Work Box, of sarcophagus form with carry handles and claw feet, the hinged lid enclosing a mirror and lift-out tray with various fittings above a velvet-lined interior, the plinth drawer with folding writing slope and pen tray, some losses to inlay, 18in (45.5cm) wide.
A late Georgian mahogany pedestal urn knife box, the finial topped rising cover opening to reveal fitted interior, the whole raised upon a plinth, h.70cm Condition Report / Extra Information Basically very good with the following faults; Satinwood stringing to second tier around top approx. 65% missing. Stringing to bottom of base approx. 20% missing. Otherwise externally good with minor scuffs only. Mechanism and catch good. Interior complete. Two modern screws inserted to base of mechanism and wooden plate split. Satinwood veneer to lip loose, some replace sections.
A 19th century mahogany cabinet by H Mawer & Stephenson Ltd, having twin fielded panel doors flanked to either side by a flight of four graduated drawers, each with cockbeading and turned wooden knobs, one door stamped, w.214cm, d.60cm, h.113cm Condition Report / Extra Information On later casters. Currently lacking key for panelled doors. Very minor warping to top. Top with minor marks only, no splits. Some minor losses of cockbeading to two drawers. Small veneer chips to front of plinth on lower left. Doors good, no splits and minor warping only.
A pair of Venetian Blackamoor stools, circa 1860, each having stuffover seat, ebonised and parcel gilt with painted features, h.54cm, w.60cm, d.35cm Condition Report / Extra Information Left hand stool - some gesso losses around plinths at front, gesso loss to base of trousers, fine approx 6" vertical hairline from neck downwards, chip to gesso on right hand side halfway up, chips and cracks to gesso on front right hand side halfway up, loss to gesso on shoe. Right hand stool - chips and losses to gesso on plinth, small chip and loss to gesso at base of trousers. Both otherwise good and original with some age and handling wear, gilt wear to extremities.

Right hand stool - small gesso losses to front centre, losses to gilt at knee, hairline with some fracturing to gesso from neck downwards, gesso chip above left knee. Both otherwise good and original with some age wear and giltwear mostly to extremities. Six tassels missing.
