Documentation includes, Warrant Officers Royal Warrant in the name of Thomas McGuiness dated 14th October 1988, Certificate from the WO's and Senior NCO's Mess of the Royal Highland Fusiliers to WO McGuiness on the completion of his 22 years service with the Regiment, various course certificates, notes from a presentation given by WO2 McGuiness about his service in the Gulf War, personal photos from the Gulf War campaign, a retrospective account written by WO2 McGuiness of his 22 years in the army from 21st May 1971 to 23rd May 1993, WO2 McGuiness served in Northern Ireland, the Gulf War, Singapore,Hong Kong, Canada, Belize, and took part in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo on three occasions, a very interesting grouping to a fine British soldier.

A George III Mahogany Pedestal Writing/Architect's Table, after a model by Gillows, early 19th century, the pivoting top supported by an adjustable ratchet above a deep secretaire drawer with five dummy drawers and fall front enclosing a sliding mechanism with a green and gilt leather writing surface with six lidded compartments below each pedestal with three drawers, the opposing side with dummy drawers, on a plinth base with castors, 127cm by 67cm by 96cm See illustration For a similar private or secret drawer see Stuart (Susan E) Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840, Vol 1, pg.281, pl.295Top section and front are cosmetically good. Top section scratched, some deep. The secretaire drawer the sliding writing section is rather stiff. Recent green and gilt leather which is in good cosmetic condition. Hinged lidded compartments - labelled 8D. End section of moulding missing. Compartment R - V the base is split. Cockbeading on arch has small damage. All drawers are open but no key. Verso which are dummy drawers have various slits to drawer fronts.
