Provenance: Purchased by the current owner directly from the late Lord Kenyon, home of the Gredington stud.Condition:Good condition with no chips, cracks, repair or restoration.
George III inlaid mahogany painted dial longcase clock, Thomas Collins of Botesdale The hood with fret pediment and three brass finials above an arched door flanked by fluted full columns, the trunk with line-inlaid arched door, the base box with conforming inlay, raided on a shaped apron plinth, the 12in painted dial with moonphase to the arch, Arabic hour and minute tracks, subsidiary seconds dial and calendar dial, the eight-day movement with four knopped pillars, striking on a bell. 54cm wide x 25cm deep x 232cm high Condition:Hood: appears good with typical old veneer hairlines to door.Trunk: veneer split to left sideBase box: some old veneer hairlines and minor cosmetic marksDial: cracklure throughout, not disfiguring. A small Continental articulated bronze figure group of two cherubs on a see-saw, mounted on an associated rectangular marble plinth, 11.5 x 14cm.Condition Report: - Overall ok condition, rather grubby, so hard to truly assess the condition. Marble plinth has some chips to the base on one side, with further minor losses to the corners. Otherwise ok.
A Victorian mahogany kneehole pedestal desk with a configuration of one long and eight short drawers on plinth bases, 77 x 122 x 74cm (af).Condition Report: Large split to centre of top, various stains, splits, scratches, all drawers with damage, one handle replaced, knocks to corners of bases.
An early 20th century brass bound oak tantalus with three pressed glass square decanters enclosed to the tantalus by a pair of panelled doors, opening to reveal three tumblers above a secret drawer, with swing handles and stepped plinth base, 32 x 33 x 27cm.Condition Report: Overall solid but used condition. The brass has a dull tone in places and there is minor surface wear to some of the oak. The pair of doors are unlocked but we do not have a key.
A late 19th/early 20th century gilt brass and ebonised architectural type mantel clock surmounted with an eagle above a sphinx guardian figure, the 10cm white enamelled dial set with Roman numerals flanked by tapering brass pillars, raised on spreading square section foot above a further plinth and lion's paw terminals, height 35cm, also an early 20th century Danish combination desk clock, scrolling calendar and money bank, patent number 338600, in original dark blue crazed finish, the silvered dial set with Arabic numerals, marked to the reverse 'Savings - Calendar No. 632', height 19cm (2).Condition Report: The ebonised mantel clock has crazing and some damage to the top plinth but it is not visible from the front perspective, further scuffs and scrapes visible throughout commensurate with use and age. Areas of brass finish rubbing away, clock movement unmarked but striking on a bell. The desk clock is heavily crazed throughout with minor losses visible to the back upper edge and one side. We don't have a key to unlock the money box which is currently locked and appears to be missing clock speed adjustment, unsure how one is supposed to adjust the scrolling calendar although ticks when wound.
A 19thC Vienna style porcelain vase and cover, on a plinth base, reserve decorated by C.H. Heer, with a classical scene, against a purple, burgundy and yellow ground, gilt heightened, 21cm high, and a further vase and cover, of similar form, decorated with a reserve titled Flora by C.H. Heer, on a cobalt blue ground, gilt heightened, 20.5cm high. (2)
