A D Mougin was a prolific French clockmaker working in the mid to late nineteenth century, manufacturing clock movements in the Montbeliard region of France, also listed as having premises on the Rue de Turenne in Paris, Mougin won two gold medals for his clocks at the Paris exhibitions of 1867 and 1879 which he used as the basis for his trademark which contain the �Deux Medaille�s� . A very large 19th century estate made oak dresser, with an open plate rack, above short drawers and cupboards below308w x 50d x 273h cmCondition report: It is usable and well made, but unrestored. Impressive size. Heavily marked and the timber is dry. The boards on the top are split and loose, as are the base boards underneath. Panels are split in the cupboard fronts. One handle missing. Quite a few splices, repairs and added pieces. Part of plate rack front is missing. Generally dirty from use. Plinth coming away. Difficult to move due to the size and construction.
