Triton Motorcycle Registration Number: BWE 98H First Registered: 20.10.1969 Engine Size: 650cc Colour: Black Engine Number: 6T04909 Frame Number: K1255094 V5C present The Triton is a very happy marriage of Triumph twin power and Norton road holding that is rightly regarded by enthusiasts as the quintessential British ''sports special'' almost to the point of it being defined as the stereotypical café racer. This well-known, universal hybrid first emerged in the 1950s yet continues to be built around the world today, enjoying almost marque status. The Norton Featherbed frame was regarded as the best handling item of the day, and the Triton rationale was to combine the ''best engine'' with the ''best frame'' by replacing the standard Norton engine with Triumph parallel twin engine. A popular engine choice was the Triumph Bonneville unit with twin carburettors and twin camshafts. This pushrod engine gave good performance and reliability and could be more easily tuned for greater power using high-profile camshafts, high compression pistons and twin carburettors. In due course, a Weslake 8-valve head became available for the Triumph motor. The Triton, synonymous with the Mods and Rockers era has been a continuous symbol of teenage rebellion and 60 years after its conception the Triton is still the most celebrated British twin special, making its way into period meets and cafe race weekends. Every example is unique depending on spares availability, tanks varied as did side panels and seats. This particular example is an extremely pleasing conglomeration of Norton Feather bed frame, Triumph 6T (Thunderbird unit) 650cc engine and slimline tank. On inspection this is very much an older build, dated 1969 on the V5 and with correct period fittings, this is a rare opportunity to purchase a proper Triton built at the time of the 'Rockers on Rockets'. A very well presented cafe racer without the clip on bars making riding a more relaxed experience. Unusually this machine has a genuine aluminium slimline tank and not the common fibreglass tank that many later Tritons were fitted with. Paintwork is extremely nice, chrome and stainless also presented well as are the engine casings and wheel rims, sitting on good tyres and period seat is in nice used condition. Mechanically there is no record of works completed but runs sweetly and changes up and down the gears extremely well. Tritons vary enormously depending on the owner's personal taste, this example is a very smart and well put together machine ready for the road with a tank of fresh fuel. Buyer's premium of 10% (+VAT) applies to this lot. Older restoration, paintwork and chrome work good. Starts and runs well. Gears select smoothly. Registered Category C. (Damaged but repairable) no sign of damage.

1975 MGB Roadster Registration number: HKO 823N Date of first registration: 01-04-1975 Vin number: GHN5-371669G Engine number: BHM1111ET08557 Engine size: 1798cc Colour: Red MOT expiry: March 2020 V5C present listing 11 former keepers Current mileage shown: 10955 In structure the MGB was an innovative, modern design in 1962, utilizing a monocoque structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types. The roadster was the first of the MGB range to be produced. The body was a pure two-seater; a small rear seat was a rare option at one point. By making better use of space the MGB was able to offer more passenger and luggage accommodation than the earlier MGA while being 3 inches (75 mm) shorter overall. The suspension was also softer, giving a smoother ride, and the larger engine gave a slightly higher top speed. This MGB is in excellent condition as the current owner has spent time and money on restoring it to a high standard including engine tuning, a new interior, new windscreen and, a fresh coat of paint. Comes with a V5C and a long MOT. Buyer's premium of 10% (+VAT) applies to this lot

Lot 279

Wolseley Model Eight Registration Number: EFU 658 First Registered: 08-12-1947 Engine Size: 918cc Colour: Black Engine Number: 3360 Chassis Number: 308/3336 V5C present Wolseley is a name synonymous with quality pre and post war, and even in their smaller models no expense was spared in luxury and performance. The model eight is a four door, light saloon car which was produced by Wolseley from 1946 to 1948. These cars were only made between 1946 and 1948 (just over 5,300 were made in Birmingham) and they don't come up for sale very often. The engine is 918cc OHV, with a 4-speed gearbox and hydraulic brakes. Apparently, at launch, the Wolseley 8 was priced at £416, £115 more than the equivalent Morris, reflecting the more luxurious nature of the car and the better engine. We are delighted to offer this charming 1947 example in gleaming black paintwork. The car is blessed with a huge amount of originality with its charming leather interior and a large history file. Mechanically sound, with all instrumentation appearing to work properly. The bodywork is in excellent order with gleaming brightwork, engine runs smoothly and brakes are in good order. A fine prewar style car with postwar upgrades making the model eight a very capable classic that will keep up with modern traffic and delight the onlooker. Buyer's premium of 10% (+VAT) applies to this lot. Mostly original. Presentable, older repaint showing signs of crazing and chips. Interior mostly original, rear seat and front seat backs and surrounds re-trimmed in brown Rexine. Light tarnishing to chrome. Tyres perished. Starts and drives well.

Lot 282

Austin Seven AEW Sports Special Registration number: YVS573 First Registered: 1936 Engine Size: 749cc Colour: Maroon and black Engine Number: M290024 Chassis Number: 259536 V5C present In 1932 a coachbuilder called A.E.Wright at Bedford Garage, Beford Road, Alexandra Park, London started building bodies on new Standard Austin seven chassis. Modelled on similar specials like Swallow, Arrow and Gordon England it was Wright's attempt of a close coupled two seater sports which would potentially take a slice of the increasing affordable open sports market many car producers were trying to tap into. The AEW was a pretty little car with cut away sides and light body giving it type 65 looks but at a greatly reduced price tag due to construction on standard high chassis. Performance was significantly better than a standard Seven and with its folding windscreen and louvred bonnet had real sporty appeal. Unfortunately Wright's exploits were short lived due to the ever increasing competition and production costs, cars were made in low numbers approximately around 200, and very few survive today. It is said that this example offered is one left of four known. This rare survivor was discovered in 1993 in a farm yard . In barn find condition, ripe for restoration but remained complete with original engine, bodywork and factory fittings. Over the next few years it was subject to a full and detailed restoration by the discerning and knowledgeable owner who embarked on comprehensive strip down, refurbishing every aspect of the car but keen to keep as much originality as possible. Finished in maroon over black and can only by described as in fantastic condition, is a joy to drive. With its responsive rebuilt 750cc engine, four speed box and great lines will turn heads at any event. Given the car's rarity and history (we believe there are only two surviving two-seat AEGs) it is an obvious choice for the collector who loves all things Austin Seven, but craves something a little different from the many standard tourers and box saloons out there, but for very similar money. Sold with a large history file, photographic record and handbook she is ready to drive away, show or compete in club events. Buyer's premium of 10% (+VAT) applies to this lot. Recent restoration, paintwork good, paint flat on bonnet top. Interior re-trimmed to high standard. Hood in excellent order. New tyres. Starts and drives well.

Lot 283

Sunbeam Alpine Registration number: 810 ASV First Registered: TBC Mileage: TBC Engine Size: 1592cc Colour: Blue Engine Number: TBC Chassis Number: TBC V5C present The Sunbeam Alpine is a sporty two-seat open car launched in 1953, it was the first vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot Limited to bear the Sunbeam name since the 1935 takeover of Sunbeam and Talbot by the Rootes Group. Ken Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign of the Alpine in 1956 to produce a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. A complete redesign of the model was begun in 1956 with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car. The Alpine was produced in four subsequent revisions through to 1968. Total production numbered around 70,000 with production stopped shortly after the Chrysler takeover of the Rootes Group. Production stopped shortly after the Chrysler takeover of the Rootes Group. The Series II of 1960 featured an enlarged 1,592 engine producing 80 bhp and revised rear suspension. A Series II with hardtop and overdrive was tested by The Motor magazine in 1960, they recorded a top speed of 98.6 mph, acceleration from 0-60 mph in 13.6 seconds and a fuel consumption of 31.0 miles per imperial gallon. This 1962 example has come to us with a large history file containing many old receipts for work over the years plus previous MOT certificates. Originally resisted as 6666WX the car now sports an age related registration number. Mechanically it appears to be in good shape, runs well and gears select as they should. On inspection the car is in good sound order, absent of any visible corrosion. Paintwork is dull and would benefit from some improving as does the brightwork. The Sunbeam benefits from newly trimmed seats and all in all appears to be complete. Very much a usable classic with room for improvement and detailing. Buyer's premium of 10% (+VAT) applies to this lot. Repainted, paint flat with over spray. Colour change from red to blue. Interior tired, new seats. Running restoration. Starts and drives.

Lot 287

Clément-Bayard Registration Number: G 5391 First Registered: 01-01-1921 (Manufactured 1914) Engine Size: 1056cc Colour: Green and Black Engine Number: LM3B21069 Chassis Number: 4M3B21069 V5C present Automobile pioneer and racer Adolphe Clément first made bicycles and, later, cars and aircraft. Born at Pierrefonds in the Oise district of France, in 1894 he set himself up in Charleville in Paris with his first bicycle factory ''La Macerienne'', as he named it. At first he made only components, then followed with Clément bicycles. The motor cars came in 1899, financed by the considerable fortune Clément had amassed from his bicycle business and his acquisition of the exclusive rights to Dunlop pneumatic tyres in France. Clément was also successful in plane and airship production. The initial model range comprised three models (9Hp, 12Hp, 16Hp) and was enhanced in 1904 with a 6Hp single-cylinder, a 7Hp twin-cylinder, and 14Hp, 20Hp & 27Hp 4-cylinders. In 1910 Clément-Bayard started to manufacture a stylish, low cost, small, two-seater roadster, with a 4-cylinder 10/12hp, and a heater for the driver and passenger. It was very popular, and production continued until the outbreak of war in 1914. Tennants are extremely honoured to offer this rare and beautiful example of Clément-Bayard's four cylinder tourer manufactured in 1914. In 1978 the car was proudly featured in the film 'The Thirty-Nine Steps' starring Robert Powell. The car was used as the getaway car from the village hall scene. This very early car was registered in Glasgow in 1914 and has, by all accounts, spent all its life in Scotland. When discovered many decades ago it was 95% complete, and with matching engine and chassis numbers was a rare find indeed. The restoration was a straightforward one focusing on recommissioning and painting, not major fabrication and the addition of any non-standard and difficult to source fixtures and fittings. Some of the wonderful originality can be viewed simply by raising the period Dickey seat, still with early leather and mechanism, it is an example of how the previous owner was passionate about maintaining the car's integrity. Of the very few early Clément-Bayards known, a great deal are the earlier and less powerful twin cylinder models. This particular example sports the sought-after four cylinder engine which makes the car extremely usable on the open road and giving it every chance of completing the many Edwardian regularity runs every year. This indeed represents the exotic and rare end of the spectrum as a VCC entrant and attracts crowds wherever it goes. Finished in striking green over black and painted in its correct craft master style coach paint with an array of brass brightwork, the Clément, now 105 years old, is as usable and mechanically sound as it would have been post-manufacture. Prices of Edwardian cars have been rising steadily over the last several years, prices pushed up by the ever increasing veteran market. With some pre-1905 Brighton eligible cars hitting the quarter of a million mark, the Edwardian market is one that many collectors are trying to tap into and with ever increasing events designed for the post veteran owner, this Clément offers a valuable passport to high profile events all over Europe. Sold with original, valuable cherished number and comprehensive history file, with photos and reference to its film star status. Buyer's premium of 10% (+VAT) applies to this lot. Predominantly original car. Older restoration, had painted in correct coach paint. Small dent to corner of brass radiator. Original interior and Dickie seat. Older tyres showing age. Starts and drives well.

Lot 1301

Original vintage advertising poster - The Austin "Eighteen" Garage Chart published by Austin Motor Company LTD. Design features an annotated cross section of an Austin car. A table of recommended lubricants appears above and further details on the parts feature in the yellow border. The Austin Eighteen is a large saloon car, supplied in two different wheelbases to carry five or seven passengers, that was introduced by Austin on 14 July 1937. Its engine and front seat were mounted nine inches (225 mm) further forward than on the old York Sixteen it replaced. The chassis was also extended three inches (75 mm) to provide a total of twelve inches (300 mm) more passenger space. One result was a relatively short bonnet and a good driving position. Its new shape followed the lines of the other Austin cars introduced the previous autumn and it was remarkable for having a completely flat floor in both front and rear passenger compartments with exceptionally wide doors and draught-free ventilation. Horizontal. Fair condition, folds, paper losses, tears, foxing, staining, creasing. County: UK, year of printing:1930s, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 63x101

Lot 1701

Original vintage music advertising poster for the Emerson, Lake & Palmer British Tour 1974. Great design features an eagle holding lightning bolts in a badge on a blue background. Good condition, small tears and creases in margin, pinholes. County: UK, year of printing:1974, designer: Fabio Nicoli and Roy Cooper, size (cm): 76x51. Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP) were an English progressive rock supergroup formed in London in 1970. The band consisted of keyboardist Keith Emerson; singer, bassist, guitarist and producer Greg Lake; and drummer and percussionist Carl Palmer. With nine RIAA-certified gold record albums in the US, and an estimated 48 million records sold worldwide, they were one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock bands in the 1970s, with a musical sound including adaptations of classical music with jazz and symphonic rock elements, dominated by Emerson's flamboyant use of the Hammond organ, Moog synthesizer, and piano (although Lake wrote several acoustic songs for the group). The band came to prominence following their performance at the Isle of Wight Festival in August 1970. In their first year, the group signed with E.G. Records (who distributed the band's records through Island Records in the United Kingdom, and Atlantic Records in North America), and released Emerson, Lake & Palmer (1970) and Tarkus (1971), both of which reached the UK top five. The band's success continued with Pictures at an Exhibition (1971), Trilogy (1972), and Brain Salad Surgery (1973, released on ELP's own Manticore Records label). After a three-year break, Emerson, Lake & Palmer released Works Volume 1 (1977) and Works Volume 2 (1977). After Love Beach (1978), the group disbanded in 1979. The band reformed partially in the 1980s as Emerson, Lake & Powell featuring Cozy Powell in place of Palmer. Robert Berry then replaced Lake while Palmer returned, forming 3. In 1991, the original trio reformed and released two more albums, Black Moon (1992) and In the Hot Seat (1994), and toured at various times between 1992 and 1998. Their final performance took place in 2010 at the High Voltage Festival in London to commemorate the band's 40th anniversary. Both Emerson and Lake died in 2016, leaving Palmer as the only surviving member of the band.
