Wuco (Western Zone of Germany) tinplate 3-wheeled Tractor with Road Sweeper attachment - scarce 1950's example with clockwork motor, tinplate attachment has a revolving brush, drivers seat with replacement plastic figure, Gama style wheels and rubber tyres, still retains its 3 x plastic lamps and clear plastic windscreen - green/orange, no key but the motor is in working order - Good, 6.5"/16cm long.
Tonka (New Zealand) pressed steel Farm Tractor - scarce limited production tractor produced in New Zealand in the 60's/70's period - finished in dark blue with black plastic dummy engine, large rear tyres, rubber exhaust stack, still retains the plastic headlamps at the front, steering wheel and drivers seat, steerable front wheels, some light storage wear and around the steering front axle but otherwise a Good Plus to Excellent scarce example, 9"/23cm long.

Victory Industries (UK) 1/16th Scale "Vickers Vigor Track Laying Tractor" - scarce large scale plastic battery operated tractor finished in dark blue, with black tracks & fittings, red seat, remote control cable & control unit still attached, untested but interestingly comes with some paperwork in the box which confirms that the tractor had been serviced and tested by them, probably in the 1960's. The separately applied exhaust stack had also been sent to the vendor at the same time with a letter of apology and the exhaust pipe is enclosed in its own accessory box with some inner packaging - some manufacturers minor glue marks etc otherwise a Good Plus to Excellent example which comes in a Good illustrated box. These Victory Industry Models were made in collaboration with the real vehicle manufacturers, circa 1960 11.5"/29cm long.

VERLAINE PAUL: (1844-1896) French Poet. Considered one of the greatest in French poetry. A good A.L.S., `Paul Verlaine´, one page, 8vo, [Paris], 29th September 1868, to Paul Meurice, in French. A young Verlaine wishes to get a seat for a performance, and with his fine and amusing prose tries to convince his correspondent, stating `Assister à la première de Cadio serait-il un rêve tout à fait irréalisable et serait-ce trop d´indiscrète présemption que de m´inscrire pour une place quelconque dans le memento de votre bienveillance?´ (Translation: `Would attending the premiere of Cadio be a completely unattainable dream and would it be a too indiscreet presumption to register me for any place in the memento of your benevolence?´) Verlaine further insists although doesn´t want to be too long with his request, saying `Je sais toutes les demandes dont vous devez être assailli, et c'est pourquoi je borne là mon épitre trop longue peut-être déjà…´ (Translation: `I know all the demands with which you must be assailed, and that is why I am limiting my epistle here, which may already be too long…´) With blank integral leaf. A pair of brown leather armchairs with a tubular chrome frame, with pirelli rubber seats to support a cushion, designed by Tim Bates for Pieff. Marked on the back of one cushion with Pieff monogram marks, the rubber seats with UK and USA Patent numbers. 77cms long, 73cms high. *Condition: One chair, two of the metal fixings are twisted/damaged so the rubber seat is not fully stretched, general wear over time as you would expect. The upholstery may not comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) Regulations 1988 and for this reason should not be used in a private dwelling.
