A George III giltwood and gesso elbow chair in the manner of Thomas Hepplewhite, late 18th century, the shield back and seat upholstered in pale green shot silk, having waterleaf carved and down-swept arm rests, all raised on turned, tapered, and fluted supports (one arm a modern replacement). H95cm, W58cm, D60cm.
A Regency mahogany framed scroll arm sofa in the manner of William Trotter, the scrolling crest rail typically carved, above back, seat, squab, and bolster cushions well upholstered in striped silk, the reeded show frame applied with brass roundels and raised on splayed supports with leaf cast brass cup castors. H84cm, L195cm, D70cm.
A George II walnut side chair, mid 18th century, the square back and seat upholstered in a blue / green silk floral damask, and raised on cabriole turned fore supports and (later) turned and splayed rear supports. H93cm, D54cm, W61cm. Provenance: This chair at one time belonged to the 8th Earl of Buckingham, and was later part of the National Trust's Culzean Castle estate. It was sold as part of a set of three chairs at Lyon & Turnbull, lot 38 on the 27th of February 2019. The seat rail bears a National Trust depository label reading "National Trust 8th Earl of Buckingham Georgian side chair, No. 45.1543c Terms: Loan Cuz."
A George III elm elbow chair, late 18th century, the undulating crest rail and uprights with gadroon-moulded border enclosing an anthemion and floral pierced splat, with well-shaped arm rests over a drop-in upholstered seat pad, and all raised on square, moulded, and chamfered front supports united by stretchers.
