CORGI; a James Bond Aston Martin DB5, number 261, with blue suited ejector seat person, and original cardboard stage and outer box (1).Additional InformationThe car with general wear to the paint throughout and some discolouration and some knocks along the bumpers, the stage with general rubbing at the edges, the box with rubbing to the corners and along the edges, and one of the foldover tabs is present but detached, some pencil marks to this tab.
MASONIC INTEREST; a large mid-19th century painted and stained Masonic elbow chair, 'The Worshipful Master's chair', the shaped top rail above pierced and painted back splat, swept arms and square sectioned legs united by stretchers, sold with contemporary carpeted steps. The painting and embellishments from the apex to the seat are the sun, moon, the stars, the all seeing eye, the arms of United Grand Lodge, the level, the square and the compass, the volume of the sacred law, tessellated pavement, dual triangles with the circle and in the centre the letter G. On the panel above the seat are painted a pelican with wings outstretched feeding her brood within her nest. On the top and bottom rails of the chair are the words in ciphers which when decoded read 'Social No.85' and 'Consumatumest'. The unusual subjects of paintings discloses for the first time a curious and hitherto unrecorded state of affairs, that the name of Social Lodge No.85 was a lodge who worked with various degrees under craft warrants, height 210cm. Provenance: Farnworth Masonic Lodge, No.350.Additional InformationA very impressive and decorative item which is solid, obvious scratches to hand-painted back panel, losses and wear to arms legs and seat panel, joints are slightly open to the front, castors slightly sticking.
MASONIC INTEREST; a large mid-19th century painted and stained Masonic elbow chair, 'The Senior Warden's Chair', the shaped top rail above elaborately pieced and painted back slats with swept arms and square sectioned legs united by stretchers, with contemporary carpeted steps. The back has various figures painted by hand, a five pointed star within a circle, three circles interfaced with a triangle, a coffin with emblem of mortality, a cock, a man dressed as a Knight Templar of the period and beneath the lower panel of the chair is depicted a lamb bearing a flag, a cross with a serpent entwined, a lad resting against a cross with a sword and sceptre behind, the hole surmounted by a crown. There are two inscriptions in cipher on the chair which when decoded read 'In Hoc Signo Vinces' and 'Establish', height 206cm.Provenance: Farnworth Masonic Lodge, No.350.Additional InformationA very impressive and decorative item which is solid, losses to varnish, obvious wear/use marks, scratches to back panel, seat panel is heavily worn and split.
MASONIC INTEREST; a large mid-19th century painted stained wood elbow chair 'The Junior Warden's Chair', the shaped top rail above elaborated pierced and decorated splat back with twin swept arms and square sectioned legs united by stretchers, sold with a contemporary carpeted step stool. Provenance: Farnworth Masonic Lodge, No.350.Footnote: The Junior Warden's Chair, Senior Warden's Chair and Worshipful Master's Chair were purchased on the 19th of October 1845 for £8. The chair is decorated with plumb rules, two levels and two squares with three medallions bearing the initials 'SQI, HKT, HAB'. In the centre is the tessellated pavement with the symbolic letter G on the panel beneath the square, compasses, 24" gauge, common gavel, two chisels and a further gauge. There are also two ciphers which when decoded read 'Love as Brethren' and 'Fear God', height 192cm.Additional InformationA very impressive and decorative item which is solid, chair seat is heavily worn, scratches and losses to varnish throughout the piece, minor cracks to back panels/decoration, chip/losses to arm.

It retains a very good colour. there are a couple of breaks to the splat back, a small split to one arm and general surface wear and tear throughout. Overall, a good example.

Left arm a little loose in socket to seat and one of the spindles does not quite meet the hoop at top.

One of th splats broken and repaired and with some losses to timbers. Other splat repaired at the top where it meets the cresting rail, and cresting rail also repaired here, some joins open / loose, heavy age wear patina to the surface throughout. Overall tired.
A smoker's bow back elbow chair with elm seat. PROVENANCE: from the Brian Morley collection. Brian Morley was born in 1935 in the Peak District, Derbyshire. He had a grammar school education at Buxton College and went on to study at Goldsmiths School of Art (University of London) from 1954-58. He won prizes for drawing and was given the John Murray Award for landscape painting by the Royal Academy in 1956 and 1958. He then studied painting at the Royal College of Art from 1958-61 where he was awarded his A.R.C.A. After graduation, he taught part-time in various art schools before taking up an appointment as Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Manchester Polytechnic in 1975. He remained in Manchester until he retired as Head of the School of Painting and Printmaking in the Faculty of Art & Design at Manchester University in 2000.

The Two Certificates', 'Needham' and 'Freedom', published by Petty & Sons Ltd, 101 x 151cm.Provenance; the vendors Grandfather was Sir Christopher Needham (1866-1944). Needham stood as a Liberal candidate for the January 1910 General Election but was defeated, however he unseated Arthur Coalfax in the election of December that year and remained in his South West Manchester seat until 1918.Additional InformationThe poster has been folded and stored in a loft, slightly grubby in parts and with some light off setting, there is a large chip to the middle left hand edge, other fraying and small tears along the edge, a few small tears along the fold lines here and there, a small tear to the foot of the figure seated on the wheelbarrow to the right hand of the M of freedom.
