An unusual Chinese carved hardwood extending dining table and chairs made by the Hong Kong Arts and Furniture Company to a design by Cathay Arts Co. Ltd., 1970s, the pull-out extending table with three additional leaves, with a shaped foliate bas-relief carved frieze and moulded, square tapered legs with spade feet, 107½in. (273cm.) long extended, 53½in. (136cm.) long closed, 46in. (117cm.) wide, 30¼in. (77cm.) high, together with ten matching dining chairs including two carvers, of unusual form, the shaped, tapered backs with a pierced dragon scroll splat, over a panelled solid seat, on moulded square tapered front legs and sabre back legs. An unusual Victorian ebonised circular foot stool by Richardson & Sons of 34, 35 & 36 Bond Street, Hull, original paper label to underside of frame, the stuff over seat on an open frame with turned spindles, on four conforming turned feet alternating with pairs of turned pendant finials, 22in. (56cm.) diameter.
Royal interest - A 1969 Remploy Prince of Wales Investiture chair in Vermilion stained beech and plywood, the square back with gilt Prince of Wales feather crest, over a red square cushioned seat and deep bar arms, on square legs, 30½in. (77.5cm.) high, 21¼in. (54cm.) wide, maker`s trefoil stamp and date `1969` to base of seat. * This chair was used by the invited guests to the Prince of Wales Investiture at Caernarfon Castle 1st July 1969.
An unusual pair of Channel Islands carved oak and elm hall chairs c.1940, the inner back seat rail signed `W.J.R. 1940`, the high backs with carved ivy decoration to the shaped toprails and uprights below spire finials, the wavy splat with conforming carving around a central carved Guernsey coat of arms, over drop in rexine covered seats, the seat rails and chamfered square legs also carved with ivy, united by an H-stretcher, on tapered peg feet, 46¾in. (118cm.) high. (2)
A William IV walnut and leather library arm chair the swept back and deep seat in dark tan buttoned leather, the back with reeded scroll top showframe over downswept padded arms with moulded scroll terminals on swept foliate carved supports, raised on reeded turned front legs and square backswept back legs with brass castors, 42¼in. (107.5cm.) high, 26¼in. (67cm.) wide.
A Victorian mahogany bergere desk chair in the George III style, the tapered swept caned back with scroll toprail over stop-channel moulded downswept arms on moulded supports, drop-in seat, on foliate carved cabriole front legs with ball and claw feet and outswept back legs, 34in. (86cm.) high, 22½in. (57cm.) wide.
