A set of eighteen early 19th century silvered metal livery buttons, by Edward Armfield, Birmingham, stamped, each cast with the crest of the Earls of Harrington, 2.7cm diam, c. 1815 Edward Armfield were button makers of 9 - 10 Newall Street, Birmingham from 1782 - 1820, however after Edward's death in 1821 the firm's name changed to Edward Armfield & Son, not as on these buttons, which may therefore pertain to the earldom of Charles Stanhope, 3rd Earl of Harrington, whose seat and principal residence was Elvaston Castle, Derbyshire Condition Report: Good.
