AN 18TH CENTURY GILT FRAME SOFA, in the Hepplewhite style, the serpentine back over a serpentine fronted seat and channel and scroll carved swept arms, on eight cabriole style legs, headed by carved shells, upholstered in gold silk damask, height 93cm, width 196cm * Provenance: Purchased from Bonhams Chelsea 'English and Continental Furniture' sale, 17th May 1994, Lot 196. Restored later that year by Lincoln Cato, Brighton at a cost of £2,100
A Victorian red upholstered sofa, with scrolled arms, on turned legs122w x 70d x 93h cmCondition report: Overall is solid and usable. The fabric looks old and dusty, with light marks. Some of the fringes are loose. The springs in the seat have risen through the webbing, making it uneven. Showing signs of age and use.
A set of eight ash and elm ladderback dining chairs, early 20th century, with rush seats, to include a pair of carvers (8)Condition report: Overall complete and usable, except for one turned spindle missing at the back under the seat. Some chairs have had the rush replaced and although all are solid, some are worn. Some have slight movement within the frame. All show signs of use and marks to the surfaces, but there are no visible repairs or damages.
