Set of ten Hepplewhite revival mahogany dining chairs, by Gill & Reigate, London, arched backs with pierced vase and wheat ear slats, dished upholstered seats, splayed moulded legs joined by H stretchers, including two elbow chairs, width 65cm, height 96cm. and eight single chairs.Qty: 10Condition report:One of the carvers has an old rather clumsy repair to the top arched rail above the left arm (as you look at the chair). The repair is very evident from the rear and side view. Some of the other chairs have more discreet repairs to the slats. All frames are rigid and with little movement. Some chairs have obviously been in sunlight though as the backs are clearly faded in colour. Otherwise the frames have the usual marks and scratches through use. Two chairs have completely different upholstery to the seats, and the carver with the bad break has a rip in its seat's upholstery. Webbing is believed to be under the black under-seat lining.
Art Nouveau pattern cast iron garden bench, scrollwork back panel, cast pierced seat, shaped ends, length 205cm, height 81cm.Please note this is extremely heavy!Condition report:The seat remains solid in construction and free of any breaks. There is weathering all over, with some heavier corrosion to the centre of the back rail and towards the base of the cast ends. The black finish is wearing thin in places revealing a red under-colour. The successful buyer would need an appropriate vehicle when collecting due to the weight.
