Retro 1960's Teak Side Chair By Meredew Upholstered Pad Seat On Turned Front Legs 44 x 53 x 85cm Founded By Daniel Meredew In 1879, D Meredew Ltd Was A Small Furniture Company That Specialised In Cabinetry And Carved Overmantels. Having Set Up Shop In Letchworth In 1914, The Firm Rose To Prominence In The 1950s And 60s, Becoming One Of The UK’s Biggest Domestic Furniture Companies Alongside Brands Like Mcintosh And G Plan. Meredew Was Particularly Well Known For Its Bedroom Furniture, Producing A Wide Range Of Pieces In Hardwoods, Such As Oak, Teak And Tola. Though The Company Was Acquired In The 1970s And Later Ceased Production, Its Designs Live On As Prime Examples Of Mid Century Modern Furniture.
