A late 19th/early 20th century carved and lacquered ivory brush pot, one side with a relief carving of an armoured daimyo seated on a garden seat, the reverse gilt with a plantain growing by a fence, the black tripod stand gilt with vine tendrils, 20cm (8 in) high There is a crack to the lacquer upright of the fence but this does not seem to go into the ivory
ATTRIBUTED TO JAMES SHOOLBRED & CO; a late Victorian brass mounted oak stool, the rectangular seat with pierced brass galleried back flanked by downswept arms with brass mounts, side brass fluted rosettes and fluted splayed legs united by stretchers, unmarked, width 54.5cm, height including back 63cm. CONDITION REPORT: This item is in good condition showing some signs of general wear. There are no stamp marks or numbers.
A late 19th/early 20th century ebonised ladder back chair with canvas upholstery on turned front supports and stretcher, height 102cm. CONDITION REPORT: Wear to ebonised finish throughout, upholstery is stained, faded and worn with recently applied MDF supporting board beneath the seat, also evidence of recent repainting/varnishing.
