Gavle is a city in Sweden, the seat of Gavle Municipality and the capital of Gavleborg County. It had 102 418 inhabitants in 2019, which makes it the 13th most populated city in Sweden. A Victorian green buttoned upholstered and brass studded two seater Chesterfield, raised on turned tapering forelegs, width 180cmCondition report: Stands well and appears overall structurally sound.Buttonback areas are well-worn and leather is crazed throughout.Other leather areas are probably replacement; colour is slightly darker and condition appears cleaner and more ‘fresh’.Upper stitching to leather panel at front is seat has come loose approx. 75% of the way along and requires repair.Studding and supports are good.

The cushion and squab have been upholstered in new London Transport Routemaster moquette with suitable leather finishing on the edges. Commissioned by Misha Black in 1965 and designed by Marianne Straub, the blue/green moquette was originally intended for the Victoria Line 1967 Tube Stock but wasn't ready in time.
