A longcase clock, the 27 cm square brass dial with a silvered chapter ring having Roman numerals, the matt centre with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, fitted an eight day movement, in a case veneered in walnut and with floral marquetry and bird inlaid decoration, 198 cm high See front cover colour illustrationReport BY RBFrom a client who recently inherited the clock from his father, which it is understood he bought in the 1960s, with a pendulum, two lead weights and a winding key, and a trunk door key, having a five pillar movement, striking on a bell, seat board replaced, probably restored before the owner's father purchased it, occasional and slight loss, as is usual and you would expect, slight warp to the trunk door, no feet, just a plinth baseReport by GHFace restored and with a very fresh appearance. No visible maker's marks to movement. Trunk door warped. Various cracks, old repairs etc to veneer all over. Some of the moulding sections below the hood are loose but present. There is a small piece of moulding missing around the lower top section. Some of the moulding round the trunk door are possibly not original
