A Mid 19th Century Yew Windsor Armchair, the double spindle back support with curved arm supports above an elm moulded seat, on turned legs joined by a crinoline stretcher, 54cm by 38cm by 93cmJoints/structure rather weak. Natural? split top of the left-hand arm. Old worm holes to seat. Top rail small split/repair. One of the spindles possibly replaced. Rear right leg heavy old decay particularly around the foot which is making this chair uneven. Back-left leg also old damage.

Rear-left legs are later. Various strengthening work throughout the cross stretchers. old decay particularly around the front legs. Chair is structurally sound.

The chair is slightly misshapen. Boarded seat needs attention as the back section is loose. Later brackets added on the underside of the seat/legs for strengthening. Typical old decay around this area. Front-left foot section missing. Front-right block foot split. Rear-right leg section missing. Left-leg section of timber missing. Formerly raised on casters. Rear-left legs later blocks added for strengthening. Metal bolts added for strengthening (see images).
