An Oriental style low chair circa 1900 with red leather seat, Chinese style pierced back and frieze, width 60cm, depth 55cm & height 70cm.Condition: various scuffs/chips, scratches to outer frame, legs and top corner edges, small section of pierced back chipped from the rear as pictured, surface wear to leather, stress fracture to back of leg but overall structurally sound, no signs of major damage or restoration.
Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni Meezzadro 'tractor' seat by Zanotta, Italy:, the red painted seat raised on a cantilever nickel plated support with weighted wooden foot, signed and as per title to base, manufacturers' label to underside of the seat.*Note. Designed in 1957 by the Castiglioni brothers by simply attaching a tractor seat to a cantilever support and a design classic was born. Zanotta began manufacturing the chairs from 1970.
