A Rare 19th Century Self-Horn Bow, the limbs made from Water Buffalo horn, possibly Javanese, the cylindrical wood handle covered in red baize and with steel or iron washers to each end, one limb set with a silver coloured metal plaque engraved "CAPTURED DURING INDIAN MUTINY 1857. From the Collection of LORD SEAFORTH OF BOURNE CASTLE. Presented in 1951 to the LEEDS ARCHERS. Founded 1857.", span 123cm. **The seat of the Earls and Lords of Seaforth, and the chiefs fo the Clan Mackenzie, was at Brahan Castle. Bourne is probably a corruption of Brahan. Also the Leeds Archers founding date of 1857 is incorrect, it should read 1848.
