David Linley, a set of eighteen solid English walnut dining chairs, circa 2000, comprising ten armchairs and eight side chairs, each with gold weave upholstery to the removable backs and seat, the frames with acorn pattern finials, all 98cm high, impressed LINLEY to rear rails Provenance: Property of a Gentleman of Title English Walnut, Juglans Regia, has been a popular choice of timber for cabinet making in Europe since the renaissance Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use in a domestic setting,as catalogued these are solid walnut, One finial is broken off but is present - the break is quite clean and the elements appears to fit the socket - this should be mendable with a simple glue but it is probably best to get advice from a professional prior to a 'home remedy'. - please see images of this area. Poltrana Frau, a set of eight green leather dining chairs, of recent manufacture, Vittoria pattern, all with arms, each 89cm high Condition Report: The arms are all upholstered/covered with the same material as the chairs One arm is partially detached - it is joined to the back but not the seat, there is a hole where a retaining screw should hold this element (it is lacking). There are marks and losses in this area where glue has also held the joint. Another arm is slightly loose at the seat but is attached - there is some wobble in this area. Overall with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions from age and use Some areas of dirt and ink staining and some scuffs, overall the upholstery appears intact with some surface creasing and signs of wear. A. W. Chapman - 125 Intercity Conductors chair - A mid to late 20th Century retro vintage industrial desk armchair converted form a 125 Intercity Railway Drivers chair. The chair of metal construction having boomerang side panels with tubular metal cushioned armrest supports with backrest and seat rest all in original upholstery. Raised on cylindrica support upon a rectangular moulded base having a plaque for A. W. Chapman 'Leveroll'. Measures 91cm x 62cm x 47cm.
