A set of six Victorian walnut salon chairs, each with carved top rail above serpentine stuffover seat and cabriole front legs. CONDITION REPORT: All six chairs have movement in the back, some have loose top rails. Four showing signs of worn frames, minor losses throughout in need of re-upholstery. No signs of repair.
A rare c.1800 Staffordshire group attributed to Obadiah Sherratt "Tam O'Shanter and Souter Johnny", both modelled seated upon an orange and black window seat and on serpentine outlined sponge decorated named plinth, width 10cm, height 18cm, also a large pearlware satyr mask jug, height 16.25cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Some abrasion to over-painting: couch, shoes, Souter Johnny's hat and coat and clothes; chip to his drink. Firing damage to Tom's knee, and his thumb has broken off. Three (3) marks on base where table is missing. Corners of base chipped. Condition is commensurate with age.
Staffordshire Yeomanry Officer’s Attributed Pre 1883 Pill Box Cap. A good and rare example, attributed to John Baddeley Wood Dl. JP of Henley Hall Ludlow. The cap is of dark blue melton cloth, with a broad band of silver bullion lace of acorn and oak leaf design. The crown with silver bullion cord decoration, with further cord to the welt of the crown. The interior with a leather sweatband and crimson silk lining. Retaining original narrow chinstrap. Silver bullion remains very bright, two small moth patches not effecting the overall appearance. Near VGC. ... Contained in the original card storage box, this retaining original Hill Brothers tailors address label with ink name “J,B. Wood” John Baddeley Wood was appointed a Cornet in the Staffordshire Yeomanry on the 5th February 1873. His seat was Henley Hall Ludlow.
Coldstream Guards Officer’s WW1 Unofficial Helmet. A French “Adrien” pattern steel helmet, complete with regulation comb, seven-tongue headband of fine black leather, and narrow chinstrap. The helmet painted khaki, with original metal badge removed and replaced by a small painted Garter Star of the Coldstream Guards. Chinstrap defective, otherwise GC. This helmet came from the 1992 sale at Pitchford Hall, Shropshire, for centuries the seat of the Grant family and for many years home of Gen. Sir Charles John Cecil Grant, KCB, KCVO, DSO (1877-1950) a prominent Coldstream Guards figure. Educated at Harrow, Grant was commissioned into the Coldstream Guards in 1897 and served throughout the Boer War (wounded) and WW1 (twice wounded). In 1919 he was C.O. 3rd Bn. Coldstream Guards, in 1932 GOC London District and he retired as GOC Scotland in 1940. He was Hon. Col. KSLI 1930-46. Back in 1918 he had been assigned to the French Army’s GHQ as liaison officer between Sir Henry Wilson (CIGS) and Marshal Foch. He very possibly acquired the helmet in this period.

An unused ticket to the 'Alchemical Wedding' performance at Royal Albert Hall, 18 December 1968, the pink ticket and perforated stubs printed in black and titled 'Celebration in December: A Community Benefit', this 20 shilling ticket for Lower Orchestra East, Row 7, Seat 25, 6 x 13cm A mint condition specimen. Alchemical Wedding was based on Lennon and Ono's theory of "Bagism" which sought to satirise stereotyping, the idea being that the only way to escape being judged was to put a bag over one's entire body.
