A GOOD 19TH / 20TH CENTURY CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE / VERTE PORCELAIN FIGURE OF AN IMMORTAL & TIGER. the immortal figure seated upon a stylized throne seat with lion dog decoration, aside is a crouching tiger, the immortal holding tools aloft, the base with an impressed seal mark, 32cm high x 15.5cm wide.
A mahogany part dining suite in 19thC style, comprising, extending dining table in Regency style, the rectangular top with an ebonised string and cross banded border, with moulded edge on two turned supports, each with splayed legs and ceramic castors, one loose leaf, the top 114cm x 245cm, and a set of eight dining chair in William IV style, each with a bar back on padded seat on turned legs. The upholstery in this lot does not comply with the 1988 (Fire & Fire Furnishing) Regulations, unless sold to a known exporter or upholsterer it will be cut from the frame before leaving the premises.
A Bristol blue and white delftware 'Electioneering' plate: inscribed 'Rolle for Ever' within a Merryman wreath cartouche, early 18th century, 21 cm diameter [minor chips and glaze losses to rim].* Note The Rolles of Stevenstone near Torrington were one of the leading landowning families of Devon and represented several Devon constituencies in Parliament. The present inscription could refer to one of two campaigns for election. The first in 1722 when John Rolle stood against three other candidates for the seat of Exeter and the second in 1741 when his son Henry stood for Barnstaple. They were both successful with Henry unopposed.Cf. Lincoln Halliman 'British Commemoratives' for a similar example and other delftware electioneering plates.

He was also the first peer to practice at the bar and a Liberal Member of Parliament for Sheffield Attercliffe from 1885-1894. He left the bench in 1923 and in his retirement continued to write and design pieces of furniture such as this settle.
A carved walnut armchair in the early 18th Century taste:, upholstered in gros-point tapestry, the cartouche-shaped back depicting a female figure with deer and hunting dogs, having curved stuff over arm supports and concave fronted loose cushion seat depicting a bird and flowering tree and shrubs, on shell decorated cabriole legs, terminating in hoof feet.
