A rare Coalbrookdale Fern and Blackberry pattern cast iron seat circa 1870 the back stamped CBDale & Co. and with registration number 150cm.; 59ins wide It is very rare for the smaller size seat to be seen with an apron The original design, number 113617, was registered and patented at the Public Records Office on the 30th of April 1858 by Coalbrookdale and is seat number 29A in the castings catalogue of 1875, Section III page 254.

LOTS 120, 121 AND 122 The following three lots relating to the North Cork Militia have come by descent through the Starkie family. The Starkie family tree lists Robert Starkie (born 1782, died 1867) as being a Lieutenant in the North Cork Regiment. He resided at the family seat of Creganne, Rosscarbery in Co. Cork and married Margaret Gallwey of Kilkieran. A silver 34th North Cork regiment officer's shoulder belt plate, unmarked, c1794-1820, of oval form with crowned strap, 'North Cork' and number '34', the reverse with lugs and studs and scratched 'Starkey VII' and 'Starkie XVIII', 9cm high Provenance: by descent through the Starkie family. The North Cork Militia was raised at Fermoy in September 1793. The 34 precedence number was subsequently attached to them in 1794. The Militia was then redesignated as the North Cork Rifles in 1852. CONDITION REPORT: Generally worn. Dents including impressions coming through to front from where lugs are attached on back. Small knocks to rim and also large dent to rim at about 1 o'clock. Rubbing and loss of detail securing pins visible on front, especially at bottom of belt, to belt on either side of '34' and on right hand side of crown. In addition to scratched names listed in catalogue, has 'HEARD' or 'MEARD' scratched to reverse. Please see images (available upon request).
