An early 18th century walnut side chair; the pierced splat above a drop-in seat with a deep frieze below and raised on cabriole front legs terminating in pad feet united by a turned H-form stretcher, together with one other early 19th century Regency period side chair raised on turned tapering fluted front legs (2)
A large and comfortable upholstered armchair on square tapering mahogany legs terminating in brass castorsThe upholstery to the front of the arms where your hands would rest is quite worn, there are dark areas etc. The upholstery to the back of the chair looks good as do the back legs. The cushion on the front has a few small stains that may come out with a shampoo;the reason the right-hand leg on the photo looks a bit twisted is basically because the legs actually screw into the front of the upholstery and it needs screwing in tighter so that the legs are straight. Apart from that the piece looks in fairly good overall order and is very comfortable to sit in and is fairly modern (96cm high; the height of the seat above the floor is approx. 46cm)
