A LATE GEORGE III AND LATER SENTIMENTAL LOCKET NECKLACE The belcher link chain necklace with lobster claw clasp suspending nine lockets containing a lock of hair, the reverse with the following inscriptions Eliz.b Anne West, born the 7 June 1804; James Shuttleworth West, born 10 Aug 1805; James Banks West, born the 15. of March 1807; Rob.t Shuttleworth West, born 1st Jan 1809; Sophia Jane West, born 26 March 1810; Miriam Caroline West 19. June 1811; Helen Agnes West, Born dec 10. 1812; Charles Edward West Born 27 July 1815; Anna Maria West Born 20th July 1822 Size/dimensions: lockets 1.1cm diameter, 42.5cm long Gross weight: 19.6 grams These pendant lockets have the names of the West family, the 11 children of James WEST Esq. (1750-1829) and his wife Emma Shuttleworth (1778 -1834), although there are no lockets for two of their children, Mary Emma and Desagulius, on the chain. Some of the children have the middle name Shuttleworth after their mother Emma, whose family originate from Gawthorpe Hall, Lancashire. Condition Report: The Shuttleworth family seat at Gawthorpe Hall was visited in 1850 by the novelist Charlotte Brontë, steying with Sir James and Lady Kay-Shuttleworth. She described Gawthorpe Hall as '...grey, stately and picturesque, a model of old English architecture.' It is now in the care of the National Trust Condition Report Disclaimer

A Napoleon III mahogany framed rocking arm chair, the upholstered back, arm rests and seat flanked by swan neck terminals over a curved front rail on sabre supports to plain rockers, 58 cm wide x approx 100 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Whilst basically sound, there is surface denting and scratching throughout the piece conducive with age and use. The left rocker is a replacement, far lighter in colour and with virtually no wear to the underside. See image of underside of right rocker for comparison. Bee and wreath gold on black upholstery is a replacement in basically good order though with some signs of minor wear and tear conducive with age. See images for further detail.

Small split and losses to front corners of seat. General typical wear to supports and stretchers.
Two yew wood and elm hoop-back chairs, 19th century, the first with vase splat, saddle seat and turned supports with a crinoline stretcher, the second with a wheel back, similar seat and supports with plain turned stretchers, seat height 43cm. (2)Condition:Both structurally sturdy. Typical wear and cosmetic marks consistent with age and use. Wheel back has some evidence of old worm to the hoop.
A pair of Greaves & Thomas mid-century teak armchairs, with pale green velour upholstery, 70cm wide x 84cm deep x 77cm high, seat height raked from 46cm to 35cm. (2)Condition:Both structurally sound. One has some surface scratching, cosmetic marks and paint marks to the arms which will polish out. The other has lesser cosmetic marks. Some typical varnish wear to the tops of the arms. Upholstery appears good with minor signs of age. Rubberised seat straps are good and have not vulcanised.
A pair of reproduction Louis XVI style upholstered mahogany armchairs, with arched padded backs and padded downswept arms, raised on moulded cabriole supports, upholstered in a textured plaid fabric, 82cm wide x 98cm deep x 89cm high, seat height 53cm. (2)Condition:Both in good condition with only negligible cosmetic marks and signs of use. Upholstery fabric is good. Padding and support good and comfortable.
