A 19th Century Wool and Silk Tapestry and Petit Point Seat Cover, decorated with pink chrysanthemum heads and other flowers, mounted under pink velvet, within a modern carved frame, (75cm by 65cm including frame), an American Mandalian Chain Link Evening Bag circa 1920s, painted to the front and back in pale green, pink and gold, depicting a central motif of stylised flowerheads, with a zigzag hem, gilt metal hinged mount and chain, 18cm by 12cm and a silver buckle, bead work shoe pocket and another pocket (3)
dating: 17th/18th Century provenance: Tibet, Made of wood, partially lacquered in red with beautiful, brass mounts with remains of gilding all over the surfaces, richly embossed and engraved with masks, dragons and floral motifs in high and bas relief. The back and the front with border decorated en suite, the borders of the side decorated with Greek key pattern. The seat covered with beige cloth with polychromy embroideries. The lower part with an old restoration featuring a copper plaque, signature at the center, remains of a red sealing wax stamp on one side. Two leather straps. Provenance: an important Belgian collection. dimensions 35 x 29 x 52 cm.
dating: circa 1600 provenance: Europe, Hungarian style cavalry helmet, composite, with skull in one piece, provided with comb twisted at the border, at the front the twisted, raisable brim with seat for the comb, beaver with two-plate neck-guard, with two folding plate over the beaver, the upper one with cross-shaped eye-slots, the lower one with air holes; two-plate nape-guard, plume-holder; the lower margin hemmed and twisted. Gorget with pauldrons, each one consisting of three plates, ribbed at the front, roped and twisted at the border; pauldrons of seven plates each. Breast-plate strongly ribbed at the centre, with tapul, roped neckline and Nuremberg stamp, with relieved bands at the upper part; mobile gussets, with thick roping; three-plate loin-guard with four-plate tassets, decorated with grooves and twisted roping. Back-plate in two pieces, hemmed at the margins. Gauntlets articulated at the back with scaled fingers. iron spurs with star-rowel. Assembled on a modern, wooden mannequin complete with leather boots and pedestal. The helmet is illustrated in 'Armeria della Rocca di Verucchio', by M. dating: late 18th Century provenance: England, Cylindrical, turn-off, 11 mm cal. barrels with remains of engraved frames at the nozzle. Boxlock-type, iron frame decorated with lines and small ornaments shaped as leaves and flowers. On the left side a trophy with an elliptical cartouche containing the 'Nicholson' signature, on the right side a different cartouche decorated with garlands featuring the inscription 'Corn=Hill / London'. The batterie at the back, vent selector for the pan on the left side, working. Cock at the back provided with external safety lock, foldaway trigger. Working mechanism (the trigger tends to drop). Pitting. Wooden butt with beautiful inlaid spirals and rocaille. For William Nicholson (about 1783-1794) see 'Der Neue Stoeckel', vol. 2 pag. 870. It is documented in London, the seat was located in Corn-Hill in 1789-1794. length 20,5 cm.
