A matched set of nine oak, ash and elm Lancashire spindle-back chairs, predominantly 20th century, comprising two armchairs and seven singles, each with a rush seat, raised on turned supports united by stretchers, the armchairs 65cm wide, 55cm deep, 108cm high (9)Condition report: One armchair with damage to the rush seat. All other seats appear in fairly good order. One example appears to be 19th century, and has general surface wear, knocks, losses and patination. Some wear and degradation to feet commensurate with age. Split to one leg, but joints tight and solid. All chair joints tight and relatively solid. General knocks, small splits, losses and surface wear to all, but all in very useable condition and ready to go straight round a table.
