A 19th Century Aubusson style needlework salon chair seat panels CONDITION REPORTS Has two seat covers with arm covers and one settee cover seat, back and arms. Condition thread worn and they are disintegrating. Wear and tear conducive with age and use. Has clearly had some kind of protective netting on top at some point. See images for more details.
A circa 1900 mahogany framed elbow chair in the Art Nouveau manner, the upholstered and comb back over an upholstered seat on turned legs united by shaped stretchers, 55 cm wide x 115.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Whillst basically sound, there are signs throughout of wear and tear conducive with age and use. The scrollwork top rail has been damaged and repaired. The back has fading to the top section whereas very dark to the base - more original in colour. Some fading to the top of the arms too. Upholstery arguably could do with attention. See images for further detail.
A pair of early 19th Century oak panel seated hall chairs with sunflower style carved top rail over a waisted and moulded back and plain seat, raised on square tapered legs, 88.3 cm high x 46.5 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Condition basically sound though with signs of wear and tear conducive with age and use throughout. A set of eight 20th Century Chippendale style dining chairs with carved backs and drop-in seats (6 plus 2 carvers) and a white painted window seat in the 19th Century French manner, 112 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Probably date to the early 20th Century but in the 18th Century manner. Basically sound throughout though with some damage and repair variously. Generally in need of sympathetic restoration (arguably). See images for examples of the wear / damage. White painted window seat or duet stool mid to late 20th Century. Seat will be removed prior to sale as non compliant with 1988 Soft Furnishing Regulations. Woodwork painted and with faux wear to give an idea of age which does not exist.
A Chinese famille-rose garden seat, 19th century, of baluster form, the sides painted with women and children at leisure and pierced with cash shaped apertures, the top painted with two women with a deer and pheasant in a landscape around a central cash medallion, 48cm high.Provenance: Captain Richard Alsager (1781-1841), East India Company.
